Sunrise finish into Indonesia 🌅

First of the fleet over the line, now motoring up the coast to Lombok 🏁

Despite sailing around the world, Indonesia is still uncharted territory for us. We are very excited to head ashore and explore. We had a lovely sail from Australia, 900 NM in 5 days… pretty pretty good 😊

Now on to land adventures in the former Dutch East Indies before heading back to Dutch West Indies 🧭🏝️

And now for something completely different…

We are on the other side of the world, sailing a beautiful 80ft Ketch on the World Cruising Club leg from Australia to Indonesia.

It’s uncharted territory for us, also a different kind of pace and life onboard — including a fully covered cockpit and the ability to work right on deck while under full sail. Priceless office views 🙌

Somethings never change though… still get absolutely delighted by dolphins and will always get up to greet them at the bow 🐬

Season’s changing… new weather on the horizon…

Time to plan on heading south for the winter! Our annual migration and offshore training passage from NYC-Bermuda is quickly approaching 🗽⛵️🏝️

🍻⛵ Buckaroo Open Boat Night - This Wednesday in NYC

We’re excited to bring back a favorite Ocean Racers tradition.

Join us after Wednesday night racing for an onboard tour of Buckaroo, FC53 offshore racing yacht, and stay for some après-sail drinks dockside.

A different kind of NYC sailing weekend…

This weekend Morgen and I worked with onboard a VIP spectator boat - Morgen working with the captain on ops and the best course viewing position (nailed it 👌) and myself as the Host!

Saturday was a challenging day with big breeze and only 4 boats were able to launch. But Super Sunday was a major redemption with 11 boats, 3 exciting fleet races and an epic final.

Really best views in the house, and I particularly enjoyed doing some private live commentary with the crowd on the bridge deck — the conspiracy theories on the race 3 crash were flying through the crowd 💥😆

Was anyone else there or watching live?? What did you think?!

Last Saturday was a glorious day for sailing on the Hudson. ⛵️ 😎

We got Buckaroo properly powered up with a full main and J2 upwind in over 20 knots of breeze. New crew Amanda was a wizard at the wheel, while Meg kept us balanced through the gusts with some active main trimming 💪

Can’t wait to see Buckaroo open up in the open ocean 🌊

Springtime sailing in NYC ⛵️

We’ve had some really lovely day sails these past couple of weeks, particularly yesterday. Gusts over 20 knots with full main and ultimately the J2, paired with some active main sheet trimming upwind, and Buckaroo was flying 🚀

We welcomed some new crew onboard for the day as well. Amanda was on the helm nearly all day. Coming from no big boat sailing experience, she handled the helm like a pro… and she was so hooked on the feeling, she’s contemplating buying her own boat!

It’s great to be back in NY. You can find us sail testing and training on the Hudson River and Long Island Sound for the summer.
