Community Waterfront Day was full of inspiration, intrigue and entertainment for the families who attended today. Our partners showcased coastal activities and learning opportunities about the ocean and Narragansett Bay. Many were thrilled to be able to pick up crabs and periwinkles at the Save the Bay touch tank. Children had fun painting seashells, making buttons, creating art, doing science experiments, playing games, trying a surfboard demonstration, tying knots and many other fun activities. Free lunch was provided and prepared by the wonderful local Newport Elks Lodge #104. Thank you to sponsor BankNewport and to our partners: Conexión Latina Newport,

This past weekend, we hosted a Sail Newport Clin-gatta! Big breeze showed up for these dedicated sailors as they fine-tuned their skills aboard the new J/7s.

A huge thank you to the coaches who joined Brad Read and Kim Hapgood - Martha Parker, Will Welles, Tommy Henshaw, and Matt Cohen - for making this such a unique experience.

To get your time on the J/7s, book a lesson or rental online or through the Sail Newport Dock Office.

Wrapped up our Spring Intro to High School Sailing Clinic this past weekend! Coached by Kathleen Tocke, this multi-weekend clinic is designed to teach the foundations of racing with an emphasis on sailing the high school/collegiate 420. Great conditions for these 8th-grade and high school sailors! ☀️
