If the front of your knee feels irritated during lunges or split squats, especially around the patellar tendon, here are 3 strategies you can try:

1️⃣ Terminal Knee Extensions
A simple way to practice controlled knee extension and build confidence around the movement.

2️⃣ Spanish Squats
A supported squat variation that lets you load the legs while changing the demands of the movement.

3️⃣ Step-Ups + Foot Tripod
Use a step and focus on creating your foot tripod. Think - big toe, pinky toe, and heel maintaining contact with the ground.

The goal isn’t to simply avoid movements that bother you.

It’s to modify, build capacity, and gradually work toward the movements you want to do.

And remember: pain can have many causes. If your symptoms persist or worsen, get assessed by a qualified healthcare professional.

If you spend a lot of your day sitting at a desk, on your phone, or behind a wheel, you may recognize that rounded, tight shoulder posture.

Here are 3 simple movements to add to your routine:

1️⃣ Kneeling Lat Stretch
Elbows supported on a bench, breathe, and use the position to create some movement through the upper back and shoulders.

2️⃣ Face Pull
A great way to train the muscles around the back of the shoulders while practicing controlled shoulder movement.

3️⃣ Band Pull-Apart
Simple, accessible, and another way to activate the posterior shoulder and upper-back musculature.

The goal isn’t to force your shoulders into a “perfect” posture.

It’s to move, breathe, build strength, and give your body more options.

A few intentional minutes can go a long way when you’re consistent with it.

Shoutout to Mahathi celebrating 200 workouts! 💪🎉

Over two years with BT, 200 workouts completed and a 93.5% attendance rate. That’s consistency.

And what’s made it even more inspiring is everything she’s continued to navigate along the way. Including preparing to welcome her first child and staying committed to her strength and wellness throughout her pregnancy.

It’s a great reminder that consistency doesn’t mean everything always goes perfectly. It means continuing to show up, adapt, and prioritize yourself through every season of life.

Such a special milestone to celebrate.

Congratulations, Mahathi! 200 down and counting.

Having trouble getting comfortable or consistent with your squat?

One simple place to start: try widening your stance.

Then, use a box to squat down to. This can give you a clear target, help you control your depth, and build confidence in the movement.

You don’t always need to overcomplicate a squat. Sometimes a small adjustment and a little support is all you need to start moving better and getting stronger.

Two questions I get all the time,

“How often should I strength train?”
“Should I be sore after every workout?”

My answer: find the amount of training you can consistently sustain.

For some people, that’s 1 day a week. For others, 2 or 3. With 2 being that sweet spot.

The goal isn’t to train as much as possible. It’s to train enough that you can keep showing up without burning yourself out.

And when it comes to intensity, try leaving about 2 reps in reserve on most sets. You can still build strength and muscle without constantly pushing yourself to the limit.

Training should challenge you. Not leave you so beat up that you can’t train again.

Consistency > exhaustion.

If your knee tends to cave in or drift out during a reverse lunge or split squat, you don’t always need 5 different corrective exercises before you can start getting stronger.

Try simplifying the movement:

•Knee caves in? Hold onto the rack for support and hold the weight on the outside of the working leg.

•Knee drifts out? Hold the weight on the inside of the working leg.

The goal isn’t to find a perfect position before you ever load the movement.

It’s to create enough stability and control to practice the movement, build strength, and gradually improve.

Sometimes the best “corrective exercise” is simply making the movement a little more accessible and getting stronger at it.

Nutrition doesn’t have to start with tracking every calorie, macro, and gram.

At BT, we like to start simple and build from there.

Here’s a framework we’ve used with our community:

1️⃣ Journal your food
Don’t track numbers yet. Just write down what you’re eating and look for patterns. What does a typical day actually look like? Is anything missing?

2️⃣ Use a simple portion guide
Compare your meals to a basic framework and see where you may need more, or less.

3️⃣ Track with purpose
If you’re ready for more structure, start with just a couple of targets like protein and fiber.

4️⃣ Full nutrition tracking
If your goals call for more precision, then tracking calories and macros can become a useful tool.

You don’t have to go from “I’m not paying attention” to “I’m tracking everything.”

There’s a whole spectrum in between.

Start with awareness. Build from there.
