We have some exciting news to share!

We received a huge sponsorship this morning toward our girls’ trip to Kentucky! A huge thank you to Kristina Deatrick for supporting our students and helping make this opportunity possible.

We’ve also already filled 6 spots on our sponsorship board, and we are so grateful for everyone who has jumped in to support our riders!

We still have a handful of horseshoes available for anyone who would like to be part of getting our girls to Kentucky. Pick a horseshoe, choose your donation amount, and we’ll add your name to the board!

If you’ve been thinking about helping, now is a great time to grab a spot. Every contribution brings our girls one step closer to Kentucky!

Our girls need your help getting to Kentucky!

Behind every ride is a young rider who has spent countless hours learning, practicing, falling, getting back up, and working toward a dream. Now, they have an incredible opportunity ahead of them, and we want to do everything we can to help make it possible.

One of our own girls will have the exciting opportunity to compete in Kentucky, and we couldn’t be more proud of her. Getting to experience something like this is about so much more than a trip. It’s about hard work, dedication, confidence, and creating memories that these girls will carry with them for years to come.

To help us get there, we’re starting a fun fundraiser that we want you to be part of!

🧲 Pick a horseshoe from our board and donate the dollar amount shown on it. Once you’ve claimed one, we’ll put your name on that horseshoe so you can be part of our journey from Pennsylvania to Kentucky. Choose one (or a few!) and help us fill the board. Every horseshoe brings us one step closer to the finish line.

🧲 Want to claim a horseshoe?
Comment on this post or send us a message with the amount you’d like to claim, and we’ll mark it on the board with your name.

Payment options:
Mail your donation to the farm
Venmo:

We are also looking for families and small businesses who may be interested in becoming sponsors of our Kentucky journey. If you or your business would like to support our riders through a sponsorship, we would love to connect with you. We’re happy to offer advertising and promotional opportunities in exchange for sponsorship support.

Thank you to everyone who chooses to be part of their journey. Every name on that board will represent someone who helped make this dream possible. ❤️

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

Even our hardest-working team members need a day off. Today we’re giving the horses a well-deserved break to relax, enjoy some extra turnout, and just be horses.

We’ll be back in the saddle tomorrow!

“What’s your specialty?”

It’s a question I get asked all the time.

What discipline do you teach? What do you specialize in? What have you mastered? What is your favorite discipline to ride and train?

And honestly, for a long time, I never really had a good answer.

I started out in Hunter/Jumper, moved into Eventing, got into rodeo and barrel racing, have swung a rope a time or two, started plenty of colts and green horses, western dressage, ranch riding, and even participated in team penning and sorting.

I’ve been fortunate enough to experience and learn from a lot of different areas of the horse world, and I’ve never really felt like I belonged in just one box.

I love the precision and partnership of English riding. I love the adrenaline and challenge of speed events. I enjoy working with young horses and watching them learn. I love the versatility of ranch riding and the teamwork involved in working cattle.

So when people ask me what discipline I specialize in, I never know exactly what to say.

But over the years, I’ve realized something.

My specialty isn’t a discipline.
My specialty is building confidence.

I have found that some of my greatest success and most rewarding moments have come from helping people believe in themselves again.

The adult getting back in the saddle after a terrible fall.

The child who struggles with insecurity.

The rider carrying fear from a past experience.

The person who desperately wants to do something but doesn’t believe they’re capable of it.

That’s where I feel like I can make the biggest difference.

My goal isn’t simply to teach someone how to sit correctly or tell them how to get their horse to pick up the right lead. Those things are important, of course. But I want to help create riders who trust themselves, understand their horses, can work through challenges, and have the confidence to keep going when things get hard.

I want to see you work through the hard things.
Not avoid them. Not give up when something feels uncomfortable. Not convince yourself that you aren’t capable.

I want to help you face those moments, work through them, and come out the other side knowing you are a little stronger and a little more capable than you were before.

Whether your goal is to enjoy a quiet trail ride, build a better partnership with your horse, overcome a fear, or someday compete at the highest level, I want to be in your corner.

I want to help you work through the obstacles.

I want to celebrate the victories with you.

And I want to help you become the most confident, capable rider you can possibly be.

Because riding isn’t just about sitting on a horse and looking pretty.

It’s about learning to communicate.

It’s about problem-solving.

It’s about overcoming obstacles.

It’s about developing a true partnership with another living, thinking animal.

And sometimes, the biggest obstacle standing between you and your goals isn’t the jump in front of you or the horse underneath you.

Sometimes, it’s the voice inside your own head telling you that you can’t.

So, if you’ve ever wondered what my specialty is, I think I finally have my answer.

I build confidence.

And whether you’re 6 years old or 60, whether you ride for fun or dream of competing someday, that’s something I will always be passionate about.

Because there is nothing quite like watching someone go from saying, “I can’t,” to realizing, “I just did.”

That’s why I teach.

Friendly reminder that invoices have been sent out!

As we transition back to evening lessons, we’ll be more strict about invoices being paid before the start of each new cycle. Unpaid spots may need to be offered to riders on our waitlist.

We treat lesson spots like any other scheduled sport or appointment, and we rely on our riders to honor that commitment. Thank you for helping us keep the program running smoothly! ❤️

Fall Lesson Schedule 🍂🐴

As we finalize our fall lesson schedule, I wanted to share a quick update for our current Top Bar Farm families!

We are working to get everyone settled into their fall schedules, especially those transitioning from daytime to evening lessons. Evening availability is very limited this fall, so if you haven’t reached out yet about adjusting your child’s lesson time, please do so as soon as possible.

I’m also looking into the possibility of offering a few semi-private lesson spots for riders who may be a good match based on riding ability. These would be paired with another rider at a similar level, with cycle packages at $190.

Evening lesson spots are reserved for weekly riders only. Lesson packages must be purchased and paid for during the off week before the upcoming cycle in order to secure your spot on the weekly schedule.

We currently have a waitlist of riders hoping to join the farm, and it’s growing daily. But my priority right now is making sure our existing students have their schedules secured before bringing additional riders into the program.

I’m looking forward to another great fall of riding! 🍂🐴
