Niceville High School Cross Country

Niceville High School Cross Country Promoting and covering the Niceville High School's Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams

Although a select few NHS athletes participated in the sport of cross country prior to 1972, this year marks the 50th anniversary of the first established cross country team at Niceville High School. Female athletes did not initially have a separate team and would compete with the boys team, until the first girls team was first fielded in 1976. Niceville Cross Country has had:
-24 State Appearances & 18 Top 10 finishes by the boys including 2 State Championships (1987 & '99) & 2 Runners-up (1988 & '97)

-NHS girls have 34 State Appearances & 29 top 10 finishes with 2 State Championships (1994 & 2016) & 2 Runners-up (1995 & 2015)

-1 INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP - THOMAS HOWELL 2012
-2 INDIVIDUAL RUNNER UPS - FREDDY CARLEY 1980, JAMES SENECHAL 1993

HOKA NIGHTS OF THUNDER Became NIGHTS OF LIGHTNING!
Unfortunately, FHSAA Officials actually stopped the Girls Race 2/3rds in! (Not the right thing to do, never seen this in my history and I’m old)
Then cancelled Boys Varsity Race (check, not popular, but understood)
HOWEVER, NHS Girls JV finished 5th (13 teams)
NHS Boys JV Champions! 🥇(14 teams)
Our own NHS Adien Collins-Hutchinson Individual Champion 🥇
We are moving forward!
