π Our bass fishing team has had a busy past few weekends and wrapped up its season in the National Youth Fishing Association (NFYA) championships qualifier tournament on June 14 at Pomme de Terre Lake.
β‘οΈ At its May 31 tournament on Bull Shoals Lake, multiple Eagles teams stepped up and brought fish to the scales to secure their spots in both the junior high and high school division teams performed well, qualifying two each for the championships.
π£ Bull Shoals Lake Tournament Junior High Division Qualifiers:οΏ½

Zach Bohlke and Caden Comfort led the charge by reeling in 4 fish for an impressive total weight of 11.58 lbs, finishing 8th out of 122 boats.

Ashton Wood and Jaxon Guinn-Henderson were right behind in 9th place with 5 fish total 11.57 lbs.
π£ Bull Shoals Lake Tournament High School Division Qualifiers:

Canon Farmer and Cooper Coffman were Nixaβs best in the high school division and caught 4 fish for 8.12 lbs and placed 43rd of 181.
β
Skyler Thomas and Bodie Copley reeled in 3.26 lbs for 90th place.
Even though they did not qualify for the championships, two other high school teams performed well. Hudson Pringle and Noah Perry finished 82nd with 4.09 lbs, and Hannah Cook and Charlotte Turner rounded out Nixaβs efforts with 1.96 lbs for 106th.
π₯π The qualifiers followed with a great outing at the NYFA Championships on Pomme de Terre Lake. The junior high anglers continued to prove they belong among the best in the state, with one team placing in the top 10.
π£ Pomme de Terre Lake Championships Tournament Junior High Division:

Ashton Wood and Jaxon Guinn-Henderson placed 9th out of 49 teams, reeling in 3 fish for 4.95 lbs.
π₯ Wood and Guinn-Henderson finished 3rd overall in season points (4 tournaments) out of 122 boats.

Zach Bohlke and Caden Comfort turned in 1.52 lbs, placing 22nd, and finished 21st overall in season points.
π£ Pomme de Terre Lake Championships Tournament Junior High Division:οΏ½

Canon Farmer and Cooper Coffman caught 2 fish for 3.70 lbs and placed 33rd out of 74 qualifiers. The two finished as Nixaβs top team in the season standings and placed 25th overall. οΏ½

Skyler Thomas and Bodie Copley captured 2.76 lbs with 2 fish and placed 39th, ending also in 39th for the season.

β½οΈ Our girls battled hard in a tough, physical matchup but fell against St. Teresaβs Academy 3-0 in the Class 4 state semifinals.
Freshman GK Riley Geary kept the Eagles in it all game, coming up with big stops in the clutch, and tallied 9 saves.
Nixa will close out the season in the 3rd place game tomorrow, Saturday, June 6, at 5 p.m. against Parkway West.
