Forest Park Aquatic Center is a Not for Profit

Perks of having an aquatic center in a park: you can make some unexpected friends right outside the gate.

(Rest assured, none of the critters get into the pool. We love our forest friends… from a safe distance.)

There are loads of wonderful things about summer. Sunny weather, thriving nature, delicious food, festive events, the list goes on and on.

But, to be honest, our favorite part of summer is watching the kids enjoy it.

There’s truly no amount of words to describe the feeling of watching families enjoy FPAC together. These pools have been open for nearly 95 years, and we’re still soaking up the vibes.

Forest Park Aquatic Center opens every day at 12:00. Come join us at our pools; let’s make the most of these childhood joys forever 💙💛

🌦️ WEATHER DELAYS, LIGHTNING, AND WHY WE SOMETIMES HAVE TO CLEAR THE POOL 🌦️

We know it’s frustrating when you’ve purchased a day pass or membership and suddenly everyone is being asked to leave the water. Trust us, we aren’t trying to ruin your day.

At Forest Park Aquatic Center, we take weather safety very seriously. We utilize the same advanced lightning detection system used throughout Noblesville parks. Contrary to popular belief, we are not sitting in the office pushing a button whenever we feel like clearing the pool. 😊

If our lightning detector activates, or if our staff personally sees lightning or hears thunder, the pool and deck must be cleared immediately. Once that happens, a 30-minute waiting period begins. If additional thunder or lightning occurs during that time, the clock starts over.

Why do we clear the deck too? Because the concrete surrounding the pool contains metal rebar underneath, which can conduct electricity and create additional risk during a storm.

A few other weather policies:

⚡ If storms are expected to continue for most of the day with little to no opportunity to safely reopen, management may make the decision to close the facility early. These decisions are based on forecasted conditions, guest attendance, and operational considerations.

☔ Rain alone does NOT close the pool.

🌧️ If rain becomes so heavy that lifeguards cannot clearly see the bottom of the entire pool, swimming will be suspended until visibility returns.

🌡️ If the air temperature does not reach 70 degrees, opening may be delayed until conditions improve.

Our staff is simply following established safety procedures designed to protect our guests and employees. They do not make these decisions on a whim, and they certainly don’t deserve to be yelled at for keeping everyone safe.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. We’d much rather deal with a weather delay than an emergency. Safety will always come first at FPAC

🌩️ Summer Bash Update 🌩️

After consulting with the meteorologists at BAM Weather and monitoring information provided by Hamilton County, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s Foam Party and Flick & Float movie event due to the increased risk of lightning and storms throughout the evening.

The safety of our guests and staff is always our top priority. Based on the forecast, there is a high likelihood of continuous lightning in the area with little opportunity for safe outdoor activities.

We know many of you were looking forward to kicking off summer with us, and we’re disappointed too. We are currently working on a rescheduled date and will share that information as soon as it is finalized.

Thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your patience as we put safety first. Stay safe, and we’ll see you at the pool soon! 🏊‍♀️☀️🎬

A little friendly competition broke out tonight between the FPAC staff and RIPFEST Diving Camp! 🏐

There was no shortage of athleticism on the volleyball court, plenty of laughs, and a whole lot of great plays. Most importantly, everyone had a fantastic time enjoying a summer evening together.

Thanks to everyone who joined in and made it such a fun night! ☀️🏐😎

📸 Friendly reminder: the official winner is still under review… depending on who you ask. 😂🏐
