Carol is St. Lawrence Island Yupik of the Nasqaghmii clan and I follow the footsteps of my ancestors as a long distance runner.

Preferred Running: I love running on the trails far out in the mountains where I feel at home. I prefer mountain running because climbing to the top has a breathtaking reward. It’s a challenge running through the day and night but the endurance makes you strong physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Running advice: You just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and eventually you’ll make it to the finish. I’m grateful for running because it has taught me to keep going ❤️
