Iron Dog 2017

Thank you so much to Maggie in Unalakleet for taking such good care of my men! She has gone above and beyond by waking Tim up every 2 hours, bringing him to the hospital, feeding them, letting them use her phone and computer because our phones don't work up there, and helping them get on a flight out of Unalakleet. That is truly amazing Alaskan hospitality ❤️

Tim and Rem have scratched. Yesterday going into the Unalakleet checkpoint Rem was leading and Tim was behind him. Rem noticed Tim wasn't behind him so he turned around to go look for Tim. Rem found Tim on his snowmobile but he didn't remember anything. I talked to Tim today and he stopped for a bathroom break and that was the last he remembers of anything up until today. He thinks he was going fast to catch up with Rem and maybe hit a snowdrift and got thrown off his snowmobile and either hit his head on a rock or maybe even the snowmobile hit him. His helmet has cracks scratches and dents in the back and up by his visor. Tim is doing better today and is still in Unalakleet due to bad weather. Lexi and I made it out of Nome today at 1pm Alaska time. We are in Anchorage waiting for them to get out of Unalakleet. Yesterday was not fun receiving a phone call from my son that my husband was in the hospital and had memory loss. Very thankful he is ok. And thankful Rem is safe too. We are all bummed out that they didn't finish and that they were doing so good up until that point but the most important thing is that they are both ok. Thank you to everyone for your encouragement and support here in Alaska and back home in Maine.
