Tuesday, July 14, Park Ranger Whippo teamed up with the Norfolk Police Department for a fun-filled morning of fishing at East Ocean View Recreation Center 🎣Campers spent the morning learning new skills, practicing their casts, enjoying the sunshine and learning from our rangers and officers in a positive, relaxed setting.

Big thanks to everyone who came out and made the day unforgettable. We’re already looking forward to the next adventure! 🌊🪝

🏹 Our Outdoor Recreation team stopped by one of our Summer Camps to share the excitement of archery, and it was a hit! The kids had an amazing time learning something new, building confidence, and creating fresh summer memories.

🏖️ National Sandcastle Day Competition Saturday, Aug. 1
Join us from 4–6 p.m. at Community Beach Park (700 E Ocean View Ave.) for a fun-filled sandcastle showdown.

With Family and Adult brackets, everyone can get in on the beachside creativity. Outdoor Recreation is hosting a sandcastle competition in honor of National Sandcastle Day. Come enjoy an afternoon playing in the sand. No pre-registration required.

Yesterday’s Jamestown Titustown Experience at Titustown Recreation Center was a beautiful reminder of the power of community. ✨

Kids and seniors came together to build their own vision of “community,” working side by side across generations. Using tools and materials inspired by the Jamestown era, participants collaborated, created, and shared their designs. The experience highlighted how history can connect us and how teamwork can shape the future.
