That was quick… Nate turned 5 years old last week. Can’t believe it! He is so much fun, loves outdoors adventures and is super social as well. Learning through a child’s eyes is really incredible and enriches my life tremendously.

I said it before and I say it again, Mono Lake is such a magical place. The history, the views, the colors, it has it’s own ecosystem too. I wish people would be more interested especially here in Los Angeles. Rivers ln The Desert by Margaret Leslie Davis is a great book about this topic.

Happy Friday! I aways love being on a boat, this trip was my first turtle snorkeling excursion. We saw different species of fish, dolphins and of course sea turtles! It was a lot of fun and very exciting. So exciting that I ran out of energy after 40mins being in the water. Partying the night before got me a little bit 😅. Still I had a great time and will definitely do it again.

First race in Hawaii … maybe it will become a new thing. Hibiscus Half 🌺 with 100% humidity was tough but I told myself it’s a vacation half so it’s effort based and should be fun … and it was! Running a local race and support the running community that way was great! 3rd over all and lots of sweaty hugs was totally worth it.

Beautiful morning! Changed my run from beach to trail, running out of the marine layer into the sunshine… coming out of the clouds into the light. Straight climbing, not easy, so worth it. Like a metaphor for real life…dark times will pass and sweet sweet light will appear and kiss your skin…

Purvottanasana, also known as Reverse Plank, or Upward Plank Pose, is an intense stretch in the front of the body. It strengthens the arms and wrists, stretching the ankles, shoulders, and chest.
Depending on the difficulty level, it is an intermediate pose as it requires strength, stretch and balance in the body. It counteracts the effects of Chaturanga (low plank) by extending your pectoralis major, minor and anterior deltoids muscles. The paddle board made it a lot harder and I definitely felt my arms the next day.

Back in LA! Let’s get back to work!🔥Travel, vacation, being alone with Nate and friends visiting from Germany made me adjust my running schedule a little bit. That’s ok, I enjoyed it all and can’t wait to go back to running long and hard with all my LA running peeps.

And to top off a very great weekend, we finish strong with a half marathon race. Like we did back in good old Germany. If you party hard you have to run hard as well! was hot, humid, rainy and hilly. The race organization was great. It was a lot of fun. More pics and race stuff tomorrow! , running

First real paddle board yoga lesson is in the books. Couldn’t think of a better place than here. Thanks for the instructions and pictures. Big shoutout to for showing up and doing it with me… she’s a keeper!
