Goals

Scholarships and Prizes

Students can win cash, prizes, and dedicated scholarship funds
ODU cannot currently offer scholarships
ODU will be apart of NACE

Plan

Varsity will begin fall 2020
Roughly 10 teams 55-60 esports athletes
Players will try out in fall 2020

Team member commitment

3-4 practices per week
1.5-2 hours per practice
Practices will include gameplay, evaluation, scrims, and strategy discussions

Selections will be made to limit rosters to sizes of team

Eligibility
Must be enrolled full-time
Must be certified as eligible on NACE

Gaming Space and Co-Curricular components
University can limit gaming play
Players select from the game menu

GGs to our Overwatch teams as they played their week 1 Tespa matches! Monarch Blue: 2-0 vs Monarch Silver & 2-0 vs Buffalo Ranch (University of Colorado - Boulder). Monarch Silver: 0-2 vs Monarch Blue & 1-2 vs Streaming Eagles (Edgewood College). Huge thanks to GamerBus and GameOn Gaming Center & our amazing partnership for allowing our players to compete & practice at their esports gym! Since there’s no gaming center at ODU yet, it’s difficult for all our OW players to play together in person. This changed everything! We greatly appreciate it!
