25 years ago today: Paul Thompson
committed to OU.
A 4⭐️ QB by Rivals from Leander, Texas, Thompson led OU to the 2006 Big 12 title after switching back from WR to QB in August right before the season.
A big salute to Paul Thompson for
everything he did in Norman.
The OU defense was really, really good last season.
But for players like Taylor Wein, it still wasn’t good enough.
He laid out where the Sooners can still be a lot better.
“It wasn’t good enough. At all.”

Happy Birthday to Sooner legend Tommy McDonald.
McDonald was a 2-time All American (‘55 & ‘56) a 6-time Pro Bowler in the NFL and is enshrined in both the College Football and Pro Football Hall of Fame.
In 1959, he was the only player to not wear a facemask in the NFL.
McDonald once said in an interview, “facemasks are for wusses!”
In 1960, the NFL passed the “Tommy McDonald Rule” requiring facemasks.
