26 years ago today: SOFTBALL NATIONAL CHAMPS!
Behind a dominant pitching performance, clutch hitting and elite defense, OU Softball won the program’s first national championship with a 3-1 win over UCLA in OKC.
Jennifer Stewart was named the WCWS Most Outstanding Player after limiting UCLA to one run on eight hits.

Brent Venables is still in a neck brace and will be for a couple of more weeks.
He had fusion surgery this offseason on his C4, 5, 6 and 7 vertebrae. The injury stemmed back from his playing days in college.
