Hi all! Has anyone been out on the trails yet? Its so beautiful!!

To accommodate other schedules we have planned two more workdays besides Sunday October 4th.

For those that can ride through the week we are planning to meet at 9 am Thursday, October 1.

Also for those that chose Saturday as their preferred workday we are planning to meet at 9 am October 3rd.

Bring your horse and loppers.

Ok. So. About all trails.

Do I have to download the app?
Not necessarily. You can access it from your web browser. The app just streamlines it and makes it a bit more accessible.

How much does it cost?
All trails is free to use for basic features like tracking a ride and reading a map. Perfect for what we intend to use it for.

The downside? They really want your money and will probably tell you you need to pay for the app when you first open it.

Tell the app to hush, close the window with the teeny tiny icon that will either be at the top right corner or at the bottom of the screen. Feel free to curse at this step requiring the 2006 All State I-Spy Champion. Continue on about your day.

Right now, only people with access to this link have access to the map, but I have already made steps to change that and get this published for the entire public (at least those on alltrails! T.T)

Whew!! What a ride!!

I've submitted this ride to alltrails, the goal is soon these maps will be able to be accessed real time, FOR FREE.

This route starts on green, moves to orange, back to green, and then we did the blue loop.
Gorgeous ride, well worth the travel. And the WEATHER! Yes please more of this!

Pinwheel obstacle tutorial. Its repaired. Go try it! (Mounting block on its way). Looks easy but the board is NOT attached.

Thanks Joyce Cox and Randy Schrader for repairing and beautifying the pinwheel. We did some more trimming on the green trail and Randy’s sawzall was a great help.

NOTICE!!

Through the month of November, Lake Thunderbird is doing a Butterfly survey, on foot, through our trails. Please be advised they have been authorized by the state park to be on foot out on our trail!

I have had NO signups for next weekends cleanup! If nobody signs up, I cant plan the event!
If youre planning to show up without signing up, you may be out there alone!

Cleanup events for all are going to be done on the first weekend of each month, and the sign up allows me to see who is interested.
The dates are designed to be flexible, if the first doesn't work for you, set a date that works for you in the sign up, write a comment, and I will schedule something with you.

Enjoyed the cooler temps today while hanging signs and trimming on the blue trails at Lake Thunderbird with Joyce and Gypsy.

It's time! Iam 71 y.o. and have been the OETRA Thunderbird Lake Trail Ambassador and State Park Liaison for 15 years. I need a younger person to take over.

-Do you love trail riding?
-Do you ride Thunderbird Norman?
--Are you good at organizing stuff and bringing people together?

How about taking over. Its a very rewarding voluntary position.

You'll be riding trails and occasionally contacting park management on things that need maintenance.

You'll also be gathering groups for work days (we have some amazing volunteers)

You'll be taking pictures of riders (with their permission) and posting them on the HOT page.

You'll be managing the HOT FB page.

You'll be submitting an occasional article for the Oklahoma Trail Riders Association newsletter.
