Sports Business Association at The University of Oklahoma

Attention all SBA members: Riversport OKC is offering an incredible opportunity to work in the sports industry this summer! They are looking for volunteers to help with Social Media Content and Event Operations at the ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships this July! We’re proud to announce the appointment of Jalen Ross as the next President of the Sports Business Association for the 2026-2027 academic year! Alongside him, our fantastic Director of Administrative Affairs, Gabby Avendano will serve as Vice President.

A Norman Native, Ross has served on the SBA’s executive team for the past year in the marketing department. He is a Sports Business major, football coach, member of the 64th President’s Leadership Class, and serves on the University’s Parent and Family Programs Advisory Board.

Avendano, a California native, is a Sports Business and Management Information Systems double major and Tom Love’s Scholar, Deans List honoree, an intern with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s ‘Thunder Innovations’ program, and member of Kappa Delta Chi.

The 1-2 punch will lead with transparency, core values, and a mission to help change and uplift the lives of their peers. Both care deeply about the University and doing their best to serve its mission.

We’re beyond excited for the future of the SBA with Gabby and Jalen at the helm, alongside a team of passionate students…soon to be announced!

On his last official day, we would like to thank SBA President Tim Sullivan for his hard work and dedication to the organization over the years! Tim spent 2 years on the executive team prior to serving as President for the past year, and under his leadership the organization continued to soar to greater heights. We would also like to thank his right hand man, Joe Musser, for his equal passion and dedication to the team! The combination made a huge difference, and we’re forever thankful for them.

After graduation, Tim will be taking on a role with the Atlanta Hawks in the Sales department, and Joe with the Oklahoma City Comets!

We love you guys, .sullivan4 and .muss!
