📣 We are pleased to share that Synergy has been awarded a five-year task order, in collaboration with our teaming partner Westat, to support SAMHSA's Knowledge Application Program (KAP).

📋 Through KAP, we will equip grantees, health care professionals, treatment providers, and recovery communities with high-quality information and evidence-based practices that strengthen substance use disorder treatment and recovery support services.

👋 We are also excited to welcome two new team members, Project Director Kevin Mulvey, Ph.D., M.A. and Deputy Project Director Bill Villalba, M.A., PMP, whose leadership and expertise will support the project's success!

When a state coordinator recently suggested developing training on serving students with disabilities in 21st CCLC programs, the 21st CCLC NTAC team had already created a new course and companion resources on the topic. Today, these tools are helping programs nationwide build more inclusive learning environments.

🌟 In July, Craig PoVey from Synergy’s “Talk. They Hear You.” team attended CADCA’s Mid-Year Training Institute in Orlando, Florida, alongside SAMHSA leadership.

🤝 He gathered with professionals from across the country who are working to prevent substance use. It comprised four days of hands-on training, expert-led sessions, and powerful networking designed to strengthen coalitions and accelerate impact.

🧑‍🏫 Craig also helped to lead a training session to demonstrate how to use the “Talk. They Hear You.” campaign to improve a community’s prevention-related efforts.

📢 We are proud to share that Synergy has been awarded the Logistics Support Services for the Administration for Community Living (ACL) Office of Healthcare Information and Counseling (OHIC) National Training Meetings contract.

Through this work, our team will provide logistical and conference support for national training meetings serving State Health Insurance Assistance Programs (SHIP), Senior Medicare Patrols (SMP), and Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) programs.

In addition to this exciting award, Synergy recently provided onsite support for the ACL OHIC National Conference, held August 3–6, 2026, in Washington, DC. The event brought together more than 350 federal staff, grantees, subject matter experts, and exhibitors for four days of learning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing through plenary sessions, 25 breakout sessions, and an exhibit hall.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. 💜

At Synergy, we are proud to support organizations such as SAMHSA and the Drug Enforcement Administration - DEA in advancing substance use prevention efforts that strengthen communities and promote healthy outcomes. Prevention starts with awareness, education, and open conversations. One thing that people—particularly youth and young adults—need to know is that the only safe prescription medications are those prescribed by a licensed medical provider and dispensed by a trusted pharmacy. Pills from other sources may be fake and contain illegally made fentanyl and other dangerous chemicals that can lead to overdose. Talking about overdose could save a life, and sharing trusted information can help connect people with the support they need. Together, we can build healthier, safer communities through prevention, early intervention, and education.

Led by Anand Kumar, the team brings together expertise in technology strategy, program enablement, digital products, data and AI, enterprise technology services, cybersecurity, compliance, and risk.

📢 We’re proud to share that Synergy Enterprises has been awarded a four-year task order to support scientific meetings for The National Institute on Drug Abuse - NIDA under the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Public Information and Communication Services III contract.

Since 2006, Synergy has supported every predecessor of the NIDA Scientific Meetings Contract, helping bring together researchers, practitioners, federal partners, and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge and advance research on substance use and addiction. 📈🔬

We are honored to continue this long-standing partnership and look forward to providing the planning, coordination, and logistical support needed to deliver accessible, high-quality scientific meetings that foster collaboration and information sharing.
