My fitness years were during the era of bro quotes and big-box gyms.
“Just do it.”
“No excuses.”
“Earn it.”
“No days off.”
“BEAST MODE.”
That was the mentality.
Which basically meant one of two things:
You either grinded your way through the workout…
Or you were the loser who didn’t show up, and the inevitable spiral of:
“I’m never going to lose the weight” began.
I relied almost entirely on “KEEP GOING, YOU’VE GOT THIS” motivation (and a crap ton of energy drinks) to power me through workouts that sometimes included two hours of cardio alone.
Motivation was my deciding factor.
And the day I stopped using motivation, or my lack of it, to determine whether I took care of myself was the day I got my life back.
Because here’s what I eventually learned:
Motivation might give you the energy to have a mind-blowing two-hour workout once in a while.
But discipline, self-love, and a vision for what you want your body and your daily life to look like?
That gives you a lifetime of good, decent, and powerful workouts that actually move you toward your goals…
Without the burnout.
Without the resentment.
Without the binging.
Without constantly starting over.
The day I stopped looking for some never-ending supply of motivation was the day I got something much better:
An identity.
I am a healthy, fit woman who takes care of her body.
I am a woman who prioritizes herself.
I am a woman who can trust her feelings, emotions, and needs.
My body doesn’t work against me.
My body and I are on the same team.
I trust myself to show up.
I trust myself to rest.
I trust myself to know when I need understanding.
And I trust myself to know when I need to push.
That changed everything.
I lost the weight.
And I never looked back.
If this is the first time you’ve seen my face, welcome.

I help women stop depending on motivation, and break the cycle of abandoning their well-thought-out plans when things get hard, and become the woman who actually follows through on what she already knows she wants.
