This week we shine our Senior Spotlight on Abby Potashnik. This is Abby's first year playing on the Hoover tennis team. Her tennis career started the fall before her junior year with lessons and clinics, and she has had an impressive first season with the team. Her favorite tennis memory so far is the team trip to the Cincinnati Open, to watch professional tennis while bonding with her new teammates. Abby has also played three years of lacrosse at Hoover and intends to play her senior season as well. She has earned one varsity letter in lacrosse. Abby also played Hoover volleyball freshman and sophomore years. Her favorite educator has been Hoover teacher Mrs. Johnson, who has always been nice, understanding and helpful. Abby's favorite Hoover memories include spending time with her friends at football games, club meetings and in class. She also enjoys time spent with her friends and family outside of class and doing activities like watching movies. She also loves to spend time reading books. Abby plans to attend college after graduation, with a focus on something in the medical field. Her words of wison to share: "Don't be afraid to try new things, even if they seem intimidating. You don't know if you'll like it if you don't try." Great advice from Abby who worked hard her junior year to learn tennis and earn her spot on the team her senior year!
