🏃♂️➡️ This week's SLT Spotlight takes us to the AOQ of one of our running AO's, Tremor!
What’s your name, F3 name, role?
Cooper Stephens, Splinter, Tremor AOQ
Where are you from?
Originally Laurens, SC live in Summerville since Dec 2015, Charleston since 2003.
How did you first hear about F3?
Started in F3 Parkwest from my in-laws pastor, LFD (Late For Dinner). Saw him wearing an F3 shirt and asked him what it was.
How did you get your F3 name?
Lame reason: Said I was an avid movie watcher, one of the guys immediately said “what’s that rat from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?” And that was it.
What year did you join F3 Summerville?
July 2015
What convinced you to show up for your first workout? What kept you coming back after that first workout?
I enjoy military style workouts and saw the similarity to the boot camps that I experienced at The Citadel on Friday afternoon spirit runs and the accountability that comes with it, which is what kept me coming back.
What is your favorite or funniest F3 memory?
No specific memory per se but any BC when the mumble chatter makes me laugh hard enough to lose concentration.
What does F3 mean to you?
Accountability and self improvement from the men to your left and right.
How has F3 impacted your life outside of the workouts?
Makes me pay attention more to what may be going on in other people’s lives that might just be below the surface.
Why did you decide to take on a leadership role within F3 Summerville?
I’ve always been an avid runner and when the ask was made for me to take one of the two running AOs I gladly accepted and I’ve held it for a record 6 years and going.
What do you do outside of F3?
Enjoy Spartan races, annual bridge run (since 2004) reading when I can, spend time with my wife and daughter.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
Born and raised on a farm, did community theatre for 10 years.
What would you say to a guy who’s been thinking about trying F3 but hasn’t taken that first step yet?
Unless you just hate working out in general, it’s one of the best things I have consistently been a part of for over a decade and have found dependable guys to lean on and keep me accountable in all aspects. I’ve never regretted a workout with F3.
