Rustic Homestead, Streamside Fly Shop/outfitters Streamside Fly shop and Outfitters is located on the banks of North Creek and the Upper Hudson. We float both the Upper and Lower Hudson and Schroon rivers.

Lg,Sm, mouth Bass, Pike, Trout and Salmon are target species. Our shop continues to add material and is home base for casting instructions, pocket water day's and Streamsides two day "Fly tying class"

My continued harvest season here at The Rustic Homestead is producing on average every four days. Tuesdays and yesterday’s work and harvest are shown. Also I cubed and ground 9 pounds of pork butt for Creo Sausage and made about 5quarts worth of Italian Sauce.

Today’s and easy day, snapping green beads and canning them.

New decorated Mink Pelts

Just finished these two decorated Adirondack Mink Pelts with top pendants of Pewter Beaver and Dentalium/ Cowrie shells, both of which are backed up with Abalone shells discs.

The lower dangles are adorned with antique white 5mm pony beads, purple and blue clamshell Wampum tube beads. Loops are purple translucent and gunmetal 6/0 glass beads.

Also shown is a mid 1800s decorated mink pelt beaded on the underside of the pelt. Which is the way most pelts were adorned. I’ve yet to find pelts adorned the way I choose.

My pelts and jewelry will be showcased at the NY State Trappers Association Rendezvous this upcoming Labor Day weekend.

Just finished yesterday a beautiful Native Great Lakes inspired necklace. Adorned with Adirondack sourced Black Bear, Coyote Canines and Coyote Claws.
Along with very rare White Buffalo Turquoise beads, and Rare California mined Green Prima Verde beads. Last Green striped Venetian style Chevron trade beads.
Complimented by my version of Great Lakes style Bracelets with Green chevron beads, white river stone and Green Garnet beads.

Four unique necklaces I finished this past week.
In the style of late 1700s through mid 1800s.
Three Elk burrs and one Red Stag burr. Two adorned with the Copper Santa Fee Cross and one with the Oregon Trail commemorative silver coin.
And one insane Elk burr pendent.
All the necklaces have gemstone beads, hand carved Ojibwa bone beads, chevron trade beads, padre beads, silver plated beads, Coyote canine teeth and Coyote Claws.

Come explore our second 4th of July tent sale here at Streamside Fly Shop and Furs. In North Creek. With new shipment’s of fur especially Adirondack harvested and tanned Beaver pelts. We have so much here at the shop besides fly fishing. To include Native American Jewelry, antlers and antiques.

Also North Creek’s the place to be. Music, fireworks and crafts at the ski bowl and throughout town.

Finished up four high end western Native American style necklaces Sunday and yesterday. Finally got the rare Castle Rock(mine) oval nuggets to work with. The two necklaces are the Turquoise nuggets, Wild horse nuggets and beads, White Buffalo chips and small Mediterranean red coral. Wolf and desert tortoise pendants.
The other two necklaces are simple Navajo women’s evening pieces. Semi choker, sm red coral and silver plated beads. With Coyote and Adirondack Black Bear claws pendants.

Here’s some newly decorated American Possum pelts and two Mtn man necklaces that I created last week.
The pelts have herring bone beads, green chevron beads, Glass beads, Whitetail antler tines and front teeth. Also Coyote claws. And last beaded Rosettes.
Necklaces have red/green chevron beads, black and lemon agate, blue lapis beads, black agate and silver plated beads.
Eagle feather Wolf and Adirondack Black Bear pendants.

With last week spending a good part of the time catching up on tying flies to keep up with the hatching of Caddis and Mayflies, I had an opportunity to create two awesome men’s/woman’s necklaces.
I blended Western, plains and eastern native designs to form two very balanced pieces.
Black Bear and Coyote claws, etched bone beads, African Turquoise and rare white horse beads. Silver plated beads. Last Bear paw pewter pendant.
