MIKE VANACORE FIELD TRACK LIGHTS

The Town of North Haven announces the lights at the Mike Vanacore Field at 55 Bailey Road will be turned on in the evening, Monday through Thursday, beginning Monday August 31, 2026. The lights go on at dusk and turn off at 9:00pm for those who wish to use the track facility.

The Town encourages all North Haven residents to feel free to participate in this activity and to bring their children and friends.

Please be advised of the following stipulations:

1. Football field use is strictly by permit only.
2. Rubber soled shoes only on the track. (Sneakers)
3. No pets allowed at any time.
4. No food or drink inside the track area,
5. No smoking or to***co products inside the track area.
6. No chewing gum inside the track area.
7. Walkers/Joggers vary lanes to distribute wear on the track.
8. Slower walkers/runners use the outside lanes.
9. No golf allowed.
10. Alcohol use is prohibited.
11. No rollerblading, skateboarding or cycling.
12. Baby carriages/strollers – use outside lanes only.

For safety reasons, the lights will not be turned on when there is inclement weather.

Weather permitting and continued use, the last evening the lights will go on this year will be Thursday December 17, 2026.

Please be advised that the High School reserves the right to schedule limited JV or freshman football games during the evening hours. When this occurs, the track will remain open for public use.

Our Fall Brochure has arrived!!

Last night our 2026 Adult Softball season held its playoffs.

In the play in game the #4 seed Lotto’s Contracting scored one run in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat the 5 seed Vipers 10-9.

One semifinal featured the #2 seeded Pandolfi Plumbing vs. the 3 seed and last year’s League and Playoff Champions Ameriprise. Pandolfi Plumbing scored ten runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and punched their ticket to the chip with a 11-4 win.

The other semifinal drew the League Champions the #1 seeded Mugglers against the 4th seeded Lotto’s Contracting. Mugglers broke the game open in the fifth and sixth inning to win the game 12-1 and advance to the Championship game.

The Championship Game setup a clash of the top two teams in the regular season. Mugglers who finished the regular season with a record of 12-4 and Pandolfi Plumbing who finished with a regular season record of 11-5. The championship game was a battle of back and forth from the beginning of the game. Pandolfi held a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning with Mugglers coming up to hit. The Mugglers rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 10-7 lead and shut down Pandolfi in the top of the seventh inning to capture the League Playoff Championship.

The Recreation Department would like to thank all of our managers, players, sponsors, umpires and Field Operations for another successful softball season!

Our Preschool Program held its “Donuts with Dads” and Graduation the last few days! Thank you to Miss Susie, Miss Italia and Miss Sam for all of their hard work in continuing to make this program a great one!
