Thank you to everyone who came out to our annual JK Kang Taekwondo School Picnic!

Even though the weather wasn’t the greatest and we had quite a bit of rain, we’re so grateful to everyone who still came out. A special thank you to all of the families who brought food and drinks to share!

Unfortunately, the weather kept us from completing our full demonstration and all of the activities we had planned, but it was still great seeing everyone together and having a good time.

Days like this remind us that JK Kang Taekwondo is more than just a place to train—it’s a community and a family. We’re incredibly thankful for every student and family who is a part of it and helps make our school such a special place.

Thank you again for another memorable picnic, and we’ll see everyone next year!

Our Demo Team did an amazing job performing at the 80th Annual One World Day in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens!

One World Day brings together cultures and communities from around the world, with over 35,000 people attending last year. This year, we were honored to be invited to perform and represent Korea and the art and sport of Taekwondo.

We are incredibly proud of our Demo Team for all of their hard work, preparation, and the energy they brought to their performance. Thank you to everyone who came out to support us and to One World Day for giving our students the opportunity to be part of such a special event.

🥋 Congratulations to all of our Black Belt Testers! 🥋

Congratulations to everyone who tested this past Saturday! Preparing for this test was not easy. Each student has spent years training and working toward this moment, and once we began our final preparation, they were in the dojang practicing nearly every single day.

We are extremely proud of the dedication, discipline, and perseverance everyone showed throughout this process. From memorizing and performing all of their forms, kicks, hand techniques, one-step sparring, breaking techniques, and fitness requirements, countless hours of practice went into earning this achievement.

A Black Belt is not the end of the journey — it represents the beginning of a new chapter in your Taekwondo training. 🥋

For those unfamiliar with the terminology, Poom and Dan are both official Kukkiwon Black Belt ranks. Poom is awarded to younger Black Belts under 15 years old, while Dan is the adult Black Belt ranking. Once a Poom holder reaches the appropriate age, their Poom can be converted to the equivalent Dan rank.

Years of training led to this moment, and every one of you should be proud of what you accomplished. Congratulations, Black Belts!

🥋 That’s a Wrap on Summer Camp 2026! ☀️

We recently wrapped up our final Summer Camp session of the year, and what a great way to finish the summer!

Our campers had an awesome time staying active with a variety of fun indoor and outdoor activities, games, and challenges — along with training Taekwondo every day! 🥋💪

A big thank you to all of the campers and families who joined us this summer and helped make each session so much fun. We loved seeing everyone train, learn, stay active, and make some great summer memories together.

We hope everyone enjoys the rest of the summer, and we look forward to seeing you back at Summer Camp next year! ☀️🥋

Hello JK Kang Taekwondo families!

Our Annual School Picnic is coming up soon! We hope everyone can join us for a fun morning together with our JK Kang family!

📍 Rocky River Reservation – Lagoon Picnic Area, Brook Park, OH

The picnic is FREE and everyone is invited! We’ll be serving Korean BBQ and traditional Korean foods, and families are welcome to bring their own favorite dishes or desserts to share.

🏆 2026 Ohio Taekwondo Championships – COMPLETE! 🏆

Some of our JV and Varsity athletes competed today at the 2026 Ohio Taekwondo Championships! We had 19 athletes compete, and for many of them, this was their very first tournament!

Our team had a great day across Forms, Breaking, and Sparring, with an especially strong showing in Sparring. We are very proud of how everyone competed, supported their teammates, and represented our team!

Just wrapped up another Summer Camp session of the year! ☀️🥋🦞 What an incredible week filled with catching crayfish, hiking, exciting field trips, taekwondo, fun games, and making memories that will last a lifetime. We're so proud of all our campers for their energy, teamwork, and positive attitudes. One more session to go—we can't wait to make even more unforgettable memories! ☀️
