My fitness journey has been anything but linear but I am DAMN proud of the MENTAL progress I’ve made. The girl on the left was tired, starving herself, and lying to everyone around her. I was caught in the perpetual yo-yo dieting which led to extreme weight loss and gaining all of it right back. But people commented on how great I looked so I kept going. I struggled with restrictive eating for a decade and it left me as the woman in the middle. I was self conscious, depressed, and angry that I let my body get to a place that didn’t leave me feeling good. The picture in the middle and right are 16 months apart. The last year, I focused on my mental health. I’ve gone to therapy, gave my body the fuel it needed, and trusted the process. It was really really hard. Went from eating 1200 calories a day to 2400 of whole, clean foods and my body has NEVER felt better. I no longer binge eat because I don’t restrict myself. It is the first time in my entire life that my relationship with food has been healthy. Balance is everything in life and I will forever be preaching that! Its been a long journey to figure out what works for my body but I am so grateful for where I am now. I’m even more grateful that I am in the position to share my story and help others along their journey. No matter what it looks like on the outside, we all have battles we’re struggling internally. Be kind to yourself and never neglect your mental health 💙

Hello and welcome to the Gunnr Girl community! My name is Ashley Mills and I am so happy you're here! A little bit about me, I grew up in a fitness oriented household and have been exercising since I can remember. I am a respiratory therapist turned personal trainer. I always knew my passion was in helping people which is why I was drawn to the medical field. When COVID hit, my world was turned upside down. Through the hardships at work, I found I could turn my passion of fitness into something truly amazing. I was tired of seeing people come in to the hospital time and time again with preventable diseases. I realized I had the ability to reach people before they got to that point. I want to help people create healthy, sustainable life styles so that they may live long fullfiling lives. I, myself, have struggled with things such as anxiety, depression, body image issues, and eating disorders. I truly understand the issues that come with being a woman and I want to help you overcome those. I want to create fitness goals with you and push you to reach them. My fitness style is a mix of HIIT, strength, and endurance training. You CAN do difficult things and I am going to help you do them. All you have to do is show up, be consistent, and I will take care of the rest! Now offering online/in person coaching!

Hello and welcome to Gunnr Girl Fitness! We are a fitness company in DFW that strives to build an environment where women can better themselves physically, emotionally, and mentally. Our goal is to provide women at every fitness level, a place where they can learn and grow together. While the individual journey is important to us, we also believe that sisterhood is a powerful tool. We want to create a community where women can lift each other up and push one another to be the best version of themselves. We will do this through group strength and endurance training classes where women will have the opportunity to challenge themselves while having the support of their “Gunnr Girl” community and coaches to help them along the way. Gunnr is the Viking Goddess of Battle and War. Life can give us many challenges, but at Gunnr Girl fitness we truly believe that with the right army behind you, no battle is too large to take on.
