Today we celebrate our senior dancer, Ava Kall, as she graduates from Padua High School! Ava has been a part of Dance Arts for the last nine years - it has been such a privilege to watch her grow into such a talented, strong young woman. Ava, we have loved every minute at the studio with you, and seeing your confidence take flight has been amazing. You will be so missed at the but you are leaving behind an incredible legacy. ✨Looking back✨ on an incredible, over the top year, we are so grateful to every dancer, Teacher, Parent, and helper, who contributed to the special 10th season. When I think of everything we experienced together, the friendships, the learning, the long winter, the shows, the events, I think my favorite element of all of it is the giggles!!!! Whether it is our littlest preschoolers, our high schoolers, or a group of parents … laughing together over the little things really connects us beyond the steps. What was your favorite part of this dance season?!? ✨

Here is our senior company dancer, Caeli, in her role as lead Coffee in the Nutcracker, wearing a special costume from Joanne Morscher, the founder of the original “Royal School of Ballet” (the first ballet school to reside at our Royalton address, going back to the 90s) (Also we love costume history 💜)

Picture Day is TODAY, Monday May 18th, at our North Royalton studio! If you were absent last week, or didn’t get your costume during your class last week, it will be at the studio ready for you this evening. Dancers who already have their costumes should arrive at the studio in costume tonight. All dancers should arrive with their hair and make up camera ready. Please refer to the spreadsheet you received in class and via email… And remember you can go much lighter on the make up for photos (as opposed to stage).

Please try and plan to arrive a few minutes before your scheduled picture time, and understand that we have over 100 people coming to a studio with limited parking spaces! Please park and walk over from a neighboring parking lot if needed and be sure to be patient with parents loading and unloading their precious cargo.

Also, please remember to fill out an order form either online or print and bring a paper copy. This was also sent out an email last week, but we will be sending a reminder today as well.

We cannot wait to see everyone in their costumes!

Reminder! Company Auditions for our 26-27 season are tomorrow, Saturday May 16th at our North Royalton studio! Detailed info and application forms were emailed to eligible students (and is also on BAND under the “event”). We already have a jam-packed season planned for next year, including, for the first time, a full-length evening show and gala in the spring. Our company is a pretty magical, and we believe unique, experience for young dancers. Through the years and ranks of apprentices, juniors, and seniors, we see our dancers grow into confident and self-assured individuals, who are creative, disciplined, and connected to a group of like minded peers.

We look forward to seeing you at auditions this Saturday!

Many of you also volunteer your time to keep the magic happening. Thank you for all you do and enjoy your special day. 💕💐

Calling all student dancers!!!! 🌟🌟🌟 Dancers ages 8+ are invited to audition for our performing company for the 2026-2027 season. New Dance Artists has an exciting year of opportunities for young dancers to SHINE and connect with their communities! From fun afternoons at rehearsals, friendships formed and grown over the years, to building technique, confidence, and leadership skills that will propel them ahead in the future, being a member of our company is a unique and special experience. Company dancers receive in depth coaching, are highlighted in professional level productions, and have the chance to bond with others through service and teamwork. It’s Teacher Appreciation Week! 🌟👩🏻‍🏫🍎🩰💃🏻🕺🏼Can you guess who from our staff is behind each of these pics?!?!

I want to take a moment to express gratitude for those who have chosen to share their artistry and lifelong passion for dance with the next generation of children. I really wanted to have Whitney Houston’s “The Greatest Love of All” playing for this slide show, but some form of IG rules won’t allow me to do that- that song played at my preschool graduation (yes I have a crazy memory) and the words impacted me so strongly even at age four, when I already knew I wanted to teach ballet. 🤍🤍🤍“Show them all the beauty they possess inside” 🤍 is such a powerful encapsulation of what we do in the studio and its importance. - Being a teacher of any kind has always been a selfless career choice. Consider that teachers in the arts don’t receive PTO, maternity leave, sick days, retirement benefits, or health insurance. They spend hours listening to music to find the right pieces, creating playlists, crafting lesson plans and choreography, and thinking about how to reach each unique learner in their studio/classroom. They do all of this to give the younger generation the power of artistic expression; the freedom of movement guided by technique; the confidence to stand in front of audiences and share the contents of their souls. Not to mention the FUN and memories created over the years we spend together.

In 2026, when algorithms have flattened everything everywhere we look, and the choices in life feel like they’re being painted black and white, our ability to continue to dance and teach is an act of joyful resistance.

It is an immense honor to teach your children and to learn and grow with them, too. Thank you for trusting us with them.

We hope you will show your teachers some love this week! ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💜
