Hooked on Fencing

We are a nonprofit corporation dedicated to introducing the great sport of fencing to as many people Our goal is to make fencing as accessible as possible.

As the premier fencing club in the Greater Cleveland, Akron and Canton area you can expect a top-notch facility, knowledgeable coaches, and a fun environment to learn the sport with other new or experienced fencers. We want new members to start fencing as soon as possible, because that's the fun part. At the same time, a firm grip on the fundamentals makes any sport more enjoyable, and fencing is no exception. You can start by taking our youth or adult beginner fencing classes or by a series of private lessons. If you already have experience fencing, there is also an option for you. Ages 5 to 100, fencing is for everyone!

Our Veteran Women's epeeists competed this weekend at the World Fencing Day Celebration, and finished 1st and 2nd in the event! Michelle Schultz earned gold and Lauren McCoy claimed silver, meeting in the finals after seeding 1st and 2nd in pools. Congrats to Michelle and Lauren on a successful day of fencing! Way to represent the club!

Many of our fencers competed at the Duelist Open this weekend! In the Senior Mixed Epee event (a field of 54 competitors) Coach Nick Arlington won gold, and Nikita Lasiychuk earned the silver, after facing off in the finals. Additionally, Connor Lindow finished in 5th, while Michael Zhang and Kaiyan Wang made the top 16! Congrats to all our fencers who participated! Looking for the perfect fall sport? Ever wonder what it would be like to cross blades in one of the oldest and fastest Olympic events? To learn swordfighting techniques and compete against others in a safe and friendly environment? Fencing is right here and it's more accessible than you think.

Our next Beginner Youth Class starts Saturday, September 12, from 9-10am, and runs for 7 weeks (skipping October 10). Open to new fencers ages 8-12. All equipment provided. No experience required.

We kicked off the new season with our annual Bring-a-Friend Tournament! The premise is simple--fencers bring a friend and teach them the basics before taking part in a friendly beginner competition. Our fencers compete as coaches, and first-time fencers get to try their hand at one of the coolest sports ever invented!

In all, 14 new fencers picked up a blade for the first time and practiced lunges, parries, and counterattacks with our more seasoned fencers! You can check out some of our "coaches" in action, and see some tired (but happy) medalists from our beginner tournament below.

Congratulations to Reilly Jones on winning the Battle of Wits and Steel Open this weekend! Reilly was dominant from start to finish, seeding 1st out of pools and going undefeated in a very competitive field. Congrats to Reilly, and to all our fencers who competed this weekend!

Congratulations to Michelle Schultz for medaling at the April Vet NAC in Richmond, VA! Michelle has consistently proven to be a force in her event, and took down a tough opponent to finish 8th in Vet50 Women's Epee. Great fencing and way to represent the club, Michelle!

Our HS boys finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd today at the Ohio High School Championships! In fact, our boys earned 7 out of the top 10 spots! Meanwhile, Sophia (a freshman) finished 2nd in the Women's Epee event after an undefeated pool and a great day of fencing! Congrats all!

We'll be closed today! Not April's fools day!

Yesterday''s weather caused some damage in front of the club, and the utility pole out front is scheduled to be replaced.

If work starts today, we may also lose power for a bit.

We'll keep everyone posted once things are back to normal.
