Stop leaning to avoid the 1-2.

If you’re bending forward or throwing your body sideways, you’re giving up your balance and making the counter harder.

Dodge the jab, then roll under the right hand while keeping your weight centered and your eyes up.

Stay balanced. Stay in position. Make them miss without taking yourself out of the fight.

Stop throwing your right hand straight down the middle.

Use your jab to get a reaction first. Once they start responding to it, step slightly off-line and fire the 2 through the opening.

That small angle can:
• Take your head off the center line
• Create a cleaner path for the right hand
• Make the punch harder to read
• Put you in a better position after you throw

Don’t chase the opening. Make them give it to you.

Which one is already in your workouts?

My five:

1. Pallof press
2. Farmer carry
3. Decline sit-ups
4. Plank pass-through
5. Cable woodchop

Your core needs to stabilize, resist movement, and transfer force. Train it like it has a job beyond making your abs burn.

Which rule do you need to work on?

My six:

1. Keep lifting
2. Maintain muscle
3. Train through a full range of motion
4. Walk every day
5. Prioritize recovery
6. Never stop doing things that challenge you

Getting older doesn’t mean becoming fragile. Train in a way that keeps you strong, mobile, and capable for as long as possible.

Comment “Dialed In” if you’re training for the long game.

Don’t just slip the jab. Make him pay.

Slip outside the jab, fire the 2 to the body, then come back upstairs with the 3.

Why it works:
• The slip gets your head off the center line
• The body shot drops his attention
• The hook comes from an angle he may not see
• You’re defending and countering in one sequence

Stay tight on the slip. Don’t overreach on the body shot.

Make them miss. Change levels. Finish the counter.

Don’t just block the jab. Move it and counter.

Use the windshield to knock the jab off line, then fire the lead hook while their hand is still extended.

The key is keeping the movement small. You’re not swatting the jab away. You’re creating just enough space to open the lane for the 3.

Redirect. Stay in range. Counter immediately.

Where do you feel your RDLs most?

If your back rounds just to get the dumbbells closer to the floor, you’ve gone past your useful range of motion. Push your hips back and stop where you can maintain position.

The floor isn’t the goal. Loading the target muscles is.

Comment “Program” if you want more form breakdowns.

Which one gets you the most?

Here are 5 things I see holding guys back:

1. Too little daily movement
2. Not enough protein
3. Drinking more calories than they realize
4. Weekends with no structure
5. Inconsistent sleep

You don’t need another extreme diet. Find the habit that’s creating the biggest problem and start there.

Stop slipping without making them pay.

Against a straight right, a southpaw can slip outside the punch and fire the jab straight to the body.

The slip gets your head off the center line.
The body jab makes them pay for overcommitting.
Your outside position keeps you safer from the rear hand.

Keep the slip tight and punch as soon as their right hand passes.

Defense should create offense.

A good slip is small. Rotate through your hips and shoulders, keep your chin tucked, and move your head just far enough off the center line to make the right hand miss.

Stay balanced and keep your feet underneath you so you can fire back immediately.

The goal isn’t just to avoid the punch. It’s to finish the slip in a position to counter.
