Late spring and early summer see the most tick activity - be aware. 🪳

Ticks are found in and near wooded areas, tall grass and brush, and may be something people encounter on occasion while visiting our parks and other natural areas.

To avoid tick bites, try to...
🌳 Walk in the center of trails, away from brush and tall grass
🌳 Use insect repellant
🌳 Wear light colored clothing to make it easier to spot ticks on clothing and quickly remove
🌳 Consider using flea & tick prevention on pets
🌳 Check yourselves, friends, family and pets often!

👀 See Something, Say Something!

As the weather gets warmer, people spend more time outdoors in our parks - which we love! However, along with the outdoor fun we have also seen an increase in vandalism including trespassing, damage to equipment and spray painting of facilities.

Vandalism and trespassing are against the law and incidents are reported to the Northbrook Police Department.

If you witness vandalism occuring, call 911. To report damage in our parks, contact us using the contact form on our website: nbparks.org/contact/
