We all have cell phones, and the reality of this weekend’s forecast is inescapable. Saturday continues to bounce between looking workable and worsening, while Sunday appears to be a complete washout.

With that idea in mind, my goal is to run both the Saturday and Sunday main events on Saturday and conclude the weekend Saturday night. Given that we have already completed six time trials, it may become necessary to bypass the additional scheduled Saturday time trial and move straight into Saturday's main event.

My goal is to run both the Saturday and Sunday main events separately on Saturday. However, if weather conditions dictate that we can only complete one full race on Saturday, I will combine both the Saturday and Sunday purses into one.

Due to the high probability of rain late Saturday night, I have made the difficult decision to cancel the concert and fireworks display.

The Elite 8 Car Show Awards will take place on Saturday afternoon.

We appreciate everyone’s dedication and understanding as we fight the weather to get the event completed and winners crowned.

Summit Motorsports Park Launches 2027 ‘Save My Seat’ Campaign Beginning October 19

NORWALK, Ohio (September 18, 2026) – Summit Motorsports Park has officially announced the launch of its annual Save My Seat campaign, giving loyal fans the exclusive opportunity to lock in their favorite seats for an action-packed 2027 racing season.

The renewal window opens on Monday, October 19, and runs through Monday, November 9, at 11:59 PM EST. During this three-week priority period, anyone who purchased tickets to Summit Motorsports Park’s major 2026 events can secure identical seating, or upgrade seats, for the 2027 lineup before tickets open to the general public.

Featured 2027 Renewal Events Include:
• 50th Anniversary Night Under Fire: August 6–7, 2027
• 21st Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals: June 24–27, 2027
• 26th Annual PRW Power Blue Suede Cruise: July 22–25, 2027
• 2nd Annual Chaos Super Nationals: May 27–29, 2027
• 21st Annual Cavalcade of Stars: Date TBD
• 36th Annual Ames Performance Pontiac Nationals: July 16–18, 2027
• Ken Ganley MopowerMania 5: September 16–19, 2027

A major highlight of the upcoming season will be the golden milestone of the world-famous Night Under Fire, marking a half-century of entertainment, pyrotechnics, and sensory-overload drag racing.

Current ticket holders should watch their mailboxes for an official Save My Seat renewal packet arriving ahead of the campaign. In addition, guests will receive a series of three reminder emails throughout the window detailing simple, step-by-step renewal instructions.

Seats not renewed by midnight on Monday, November 9, will be released for public purchase beginning Friday, November 20.

Fans can renew their seats online through the track’s official ticketing portal, tix.com, or by calling the Summit Motorsports Park ticket office at (419) 668-5555.

For the first time, we’re excited to introduce The S***t Peaco Memorial Pageant of Pets! Some honors recognize what you’ve accomplished, others recognize the mark you’ve left behind. But this one is both. A heartfelt congratulations to our Commander in Chief, Bill on being named in Drag Illustrated Power 100, recognizing 100 of the most influential people in drag racing, and earning his place in the Visionary category.

For Bill, this is about far more than a name on a list, it is about a son who inherited his father’s dream and made it his life’s work to protect it, grow it and carry it forward. It is about decades of opening the gates, turning on the lights, filling the grandstands and believing through the great years and the difficult ones that this place, this town, and these people were always worth fighting for. Bill has never simply operated a racetrack. He has poured his heart into one.

Every packed grandstand, every unforgettable Night Under Fire, every child who walked through our gates for the first time, every racer who has called Norwalk their second home, every family that has returned generation after generation, that is the legacy.
And through all the growth, change and success, the philosophy handed down by his father has never changed, our guests come first.

Bill often talks about watching fathers bring their daughters and sons, and grandparents return with their grandchildren. Someday, long after the final pair has gone down the track, those are the things that will matter most. The memories made here and the generations of people who will carry them. To see the man who has given so much of himself to this sport recognized as one of drag racing’s most influential visionaries is incredibly special. Your dad built something extraordinary, Bill. You made sure his dream never stopped growing and you have turned it into your own. You're no longer walking in his footsteps, you have created your own for the next generation to walk in.
