Children of the Sound CONFIDENCE • INDEPENDENCE • GROWTH Founded by Lyes Mahfoudia, Children of the Sound is the largest private swim school in Fairfield County.

As a member of the United States Swim School Association, Children of the Sound is based on our experience running swim schools in Portland, OR. We welcome your comments, feedback and questions
(203) 536-5601. Children of the SoundSM emphasizes gentle and patient encouragement to help children progress at their own level of learning readiness with our individualized lessons. Our program promises effective learning incentives through stimulation, positive reinforcement, patience and practice. With loving assurance, reluctant children are guided through new water experiences and past apprehension, allowing the process to unfold naturally. Our balanced program results in learning new skills while maintaining enjoyment and enthusiasm. We believe that competency in the water gives children water safety skills, confidence and coordination for proper physical development. With personalized instruction, we establish long term relationships with our swimmers and help them to achieve their personal best. We believe that regular and consistent exercise such as swimming greatly improves a child's health and promotes coordination and concentration.

💙 Water Safety Starts With You! 💦

A few simple habits can make all the difference around the water. Whether you’re spending the day at the pool, beach, or lake, take a moment to review these important water safety reminders.

✔️ Always provide active adult supervision
✔️ Wear a properly fitted life jacket when needed
✔️ Learn lifesaving swim skills
✔️ Secure your pool with barriers and locked gates
✔️ Stay sun safe with sunscreen, shade, and hydration

At Children of the Sound, we’re passionate about helping children build confidence, develop strong swimming skills, and stay safe in and around the water.

Remember: The best water safety tool is a prepared parent and a confident swimmer. 🌊🐢

Save this post, share it with another family, and help us spread water safety awareness this summer!

07/11/2026

It's National Swimming Pool Day! Remember to have a four-sided fence and a self-closing, self locking gate around your pool. And if a child goes missing, check the pool first!
