The gear in the American Dunes pro shop is some of the best in the country, and it's not surprising they are a merchandising leader in the industry. Here are a few pieces with the story behind them:

1: The Golfing Fighter Pilot: This logo is a nod to Lt. Col Dan Rooney, founder of Folds of Honor, and the first man to be a F-16 Fighter Pilot and a PGA Professional. Such a cool crossover, and the logo to go along with it.

2: The Burning Piano: Every squadron has a ritual for the ones who don't come home. At American Dunes, it's a burning piano, a tribute to RAF pilots who set fire to the mess hall piano when a brother was lost, so no one else could play the songs he used to play.

3: The Shark Mouth: The shark mouth is one of the most recognizable pieces of nose art in aviation history, first made famous on P-40 Warhawks flown by the Flying Tigers in WWII. American Dunes carries that same fighter-pilot spirit into its gear, a nod to the service members the club was built to honor.

Michael Block sold the 7-iron he used for his hole-in-one at the 2023 PGA Championship, the shot that made him a household name while playing alongside Rory McIlroy.

He says the money went toward a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback Restomod, complete with a "SVNIRON" license plate. Block said owning a classic car was always the plan, something his dad never let him spend money on growing up.

Here's what we know about Frontier Club 👇

A new 333-acre private club is planned for Lodi Township, just southwest of Ann Arbor, with renowned architect Gil Hanse on course design duties. The plan calls for 18 holes, a 12-hole short course, a two-level clubhouse, guest cottages, and a price tag north of $32 million.

Membership is expected to be capped around 300, with most coming from outside Michigan. Groundbreaking is targeted for this fall, with an opening eyed for spring 2028.

Hanse himself has called it one of the most special places he's ever built.
