Labor Day regatta and Picnic-
Our end of the year Yacht Club Picnic is this Sunday at the Pavilion at 5:30pm. Even if you are not a member and would like to learn more about the Yacht Club please join us for a fun picnic. We will provide hot dogs, wimpies, and beverages. Please bring a side dish and a dessert to share. Hope to see you all at the Pavilion! We have an RSVP link for the picnic so we are sure we have enough food for everyone. We also have a section on the link for any yacht club stories you may like to share with the club. We will compile all the stories and have them to read for years to come.

Our Labor Day Regatta will start with back to back races this Saturday starting at 10:30am. Last race will be Sunday at 2pm. Looking forward to this weekend, and seeing you on the Lake!

We held our Alumni Race this past Sunday with 16 boats. We had a 3 lap counterclockwise course starting from Fleetwood/Deivert’s dock. Millie Fleetwood was our honorary Commodore!
The Alumni Race is so special in that we get to sail in honor and memory of family and friends.
In memory:
Allie Griswold sailed for her grandfather Rev. Lincoln Griswold.
Kieren Koons sailed for his Grandfather Paul Koons Sr., his Grandmother Duffy Koons and his Grandfather James Thomas.
Bob and Kacey Hess had the yacht club sail for Ed Heller.
Sebastian Lacoste and PJ Delaye sailed for Ron Kaiser.
Eric Brasch sailed for his parents Robert and Barbara, and his brother Thom.
Elizabeth & Jim McGuire sailed for Elizabeth’s father, Dr. George Davis, and his sailing partner and life long friend, John Thomas.
Granger Toper sailed for Ed Heller, Commodore Dorothy Scott and Sunny’s dad Nick Shilay.
Axel sailed in memory of Daphne’s grandfather Tom Jones and grandmother Dolores. Daphne noted that Dolores’s initials are on the Laser.
Martha Van Hise sailed for her dad, Rev. Walter Coats.
The Yacht Club sailed in memory of our friend Jay Nixon.
Bill Garver sailed in honor of our good friend and former sailor Everett Rice.

Our fleet consisted of Axel, Kieren, Mike C, Ryan, Eric K, Eric B, Luke, Tom and Sutton in their Sunfishes. Bill and Martha sailed their Butterflies. Allie, Steve P, and Granger sailed the Lasers. Jim and Elizabeth sailed their Catalina. Greg and Ethan, Seb and PJ sailed their Thistles.
What a beautiful day to honor and remember our loved ones and friends! Thanks to all the sailors for participating in this special race.

The winner of this race will be awarded the Britt H. Jones Memorial Trophy at our end of the year picnic.

Thanks to Greg Koons for organizing and running our Hot Dog giveaway event from his boat by the island during our race. The hot dogs were delicious! Also thank you to Eric B., Tim, Noah and Kieren for helping Greg prepare the dogs!
