Boat in the water alert!

Very pleased to relay that Don Dexter, long-time Nyack Boat Club member will be the Director of Sailing of the Ideal Fleet for the 2021 season!

Don has been sailing all his life and grew up here at the Nyack Boat Club, sailing with his family and learning to sail in the early years of our junior sailing program. He has been skippering his Thistle here since 1984. In addition to his Thistle, Don spent 10 years frostbiting on small courses in his Cook 11 at American Yacht Club. He consistently placed in the top three each season.

As the new Ideal 18 Fleet Director of Sailing, he is eager to show the ropes to new sailors, and to enhance people’s sailing skills in a safe, fun, and fruitful learning environment where friendships are a priority.

Don and his two daughters have sailed with him since they were toddlers.

Hook Mountain trip was a success... thanks to DOS Nick Badal and the fun skippers and crew.

Not a lot of wind for racing, but a pretty nice night for photos and quite an overstuffed cooler.
