Seminar
April 26th - 27th 2013
with
Shihan Jeff Walker
To be presented at the Kamikokoro Warrior Arts Dojo
306 Sonderen, O'Fallon, MO 63366
This will be a continuation of the St. Louis area seminar that Shihan Walker presented at the end of 2012. The main focus of this seminar will be on “Urban Awareness and Survival Skills”
Jeff Walker holds the rank of Judan, fu-i (14th Degree Black Belt) and is certified as a Shidoshi (instructor) in the Bujinkan system. He has trained since the 1990s and travels to Japan at least once a year to train with Hatsumi-soke and the senior Japanese shihan. Jeff is retired from the military after twenty-three years, serving in special operations units involved in counter-insurgency, counter-terrorism, and counter-intelligence operations and protective services.
Jeff has acquired very unique and extensive skill sets from his military service which parallel many skills that were also held by the ancient ninja such as: moving in public unnoticed, detecting and breaking-up surveillance, protecting dignitaries, conducting physical security assessments, changing physical appearances, and being well versed in close quarters combat. Jeff offers a “real life” perspective on the art we share and how it applies to our modern world.
Friday evening training will begin at 7pm and last until approximately 9pm. During this segment Jeff will be presenting Taijutsu concepts and skills from his recent trip to Japan.
Saturday training will begin 10:00am at the dojo where Jeff will present a quick review of general awareness and personal safety concepts that were covered at his previous seminar. We will then re-locate to a local shopping mall and begin our practical “active exercises” segment within the facility. This training will last until approximately 4:30pm. You are encouraged to bring a pen and note-pad but no other special implements are required for training. Regular “street clothes” to be worn for our trip to the mall.
Please feel free to join us for after training activities Friday and Saturday evenings. We will be socializing with food and drink at a local establishment yet to be determined.

Try to bring a “blue” gun (artificial gun), or wooden gun, and / or a broken airsoft or paintball rifle with electric tape covering it. Century has cheap wooden pistols. We will need a long and short weapon, at least one per 2 people.
We will break only for 30 min for a snack so pack something and bring water. We wii go to the sports bar in Highland (E L Flannnigans) after training.
We will go to EL Flannigans in Highland for burgers and beer after and then you are invited to my home to visit Saturday evening. (Angie)
The ladies self-defense class went very well tonight. Thanks to all that came out. ~Claire
