Tour de Surgeon is a points-based competition. This is NOT a race. TDS is a series of group rides that coincide with the Tour de France. Each day that there is a stage in the Tour de France, there is a stage in the Tour de Surgeon. A total of 21 stages! For each stage, there will be three (3) pace-based groups to choose from: A Group (lead by Andy) will average 20-22mph. B Group (Lead by Josh) will average 17-19mph. C Group will be lead by one of our traditional C Group Ride leaders, Big Mike, Brian, Chris or Jon; they will average 14-16 mph. Again for this year for each stage you ride, you will receive one (1) prize ticket* to enter a drawing for sweet TDS
prizes to be awarded following the podium ceremony on Tuesday, July 28.

There are several ways in which to accumulate points in each stage:

1. Sign In and Ride. You get the biggest points for simply participating. 10 points for each official TDS ride you sign into and ride. The sign-in binder will be handled by one of our crew, find that person in the shop or at the off-site ride and make sure to sign in. After you sign in, be sure to get your raffle ticket. If you can’t make the official ride you can do your own remote ride on your own and earn 5 points. (please send Strava documentation to [email protected] with TDS in the title within 24 hours of the ride time to get these points)

2. Apparel – Dress in a previous year Tour de Surgéon jersey or Pro Team jersey (3 points). Let the crew member who has the sign-in sheet know you have a qualifying jersey on to get your points.

3. Social media – This one is worth three points per post, one post per day. Please upload your pictures from a stage to Facebook or Instagram with ; also feel free to tag one or multiple sponsors; make sure to follow their social page and use the @ sign before each business name to have them come up correctly: Bike Surgeon, The Korte Company, Gilster Mary-Lee, Smoothie King O’Fallon, North Bay Produce, Lagunas Roofing, Aggressive Graphics, Cardin Photography & Motion, Superior Construction, Raymond James, Barnes Properties, Roots, Le Ono, ReMax Emily Greenstreet, Cycle Life Cycle. The next time you check in for an official TDS ride show the crew member in charge of check-in your post this is the only way to get social points.

4. Epic Photo/Video - At the end of the event, the most Clever/Creative/Epic picture or video of the year involving a team sponsor will be selected for a 25 point bonus (selected by a third-party judging panel). To participate in this piece of the competition please shoot a link to your awesome post to us at: [email protected].

5. Time Trial Point: July 5 th , Team Time Trial (TTT) and July 22 nd , Individual Time Trial (ITT) – For the TTT there will bonus points awarded based on predicted time as well as actual time and for the ITT we will base points solely on predicted time. Predicted time
results will be based on the accuracy of your predicted finish time, with NO electronics or timekeeping devices allowed that day, leave your phones and GPS’s in the car please and thanks! TTT will be scored in two separate ways; with each member receiving the
amount of points the team earns: top three actual times 10 for 1 st , 5 for 2 nd and 3 for 3 rd and to the top three most accurate teams10 for 1 st , 5 for 2 nd and 3 for 3 rd . ITT will be scored as one overall category for accuracy of predicted time only with 20 Points for 1st thru 2 Points for 10th place.

6. Theme Nights: On Stage 7, July 10th; Stage 13, July 17th, and Stage 19, July 24th there will be a specific theme for the ride. If you dress yourself or your bike in that theme you will receive 3 points. Best dressed each theme night will receive an additional 10 points.
(Winner be selected by social media voting conducted after each theme night)

7. ALL Stages Completed – Anyone that participates in all 21 stages (max of two remote rides on your own not at official TDS event site) will receive a 25 point bonus.

8. Offsite Rides – This year we will have more offsite ride locations throughout the event than ever. Offsite rides will be each Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday of the tour. Points
for Offsite rides will be the same this year as all rides leaving from Bike Surgeon.

9. Strava Segments – Each stage may or may not feature a Strava segment or “Mini Race”. These will be for “bragging rights” only. To keep rides safer and equally competitive for all riders, no points will be awarded.

*Tickets issued for Tour de Surgeon prizes will be based on participation in OFFICIAL TdS rides only (no remote ride from home rides count), prizes will be awarded by random drawing on
7/28 after the podium ceremony, must be present to win.

The top three point’s earners each week (after stages 7,14 and 21) get in on some wicked cool prizes. The Overall top three point-holders at the end of the Tour de Surgéon will WIN a 2026
version of the limited release Tour de Surgéon jersey FREE and some other kick ass prizes from our awesome TDS Sponsors. The rest of the top ten can grab one of these jerseys at 50% off and
anyone with at least 10 TDS points can grab a jersey at 25% off.

The Tour de Surgeon is not only a great chance to build HUGE fitness and have fun on your bike, but you can also earn big money for riding your bike! For every point you earn in this year’s Tour, you will earn $1 towards the purchase of a new carbon bike for yourself in 2026.

Crunch those numbers: 10 points for showing up to each stage; 3 points for wearing a tour or pro team jersey; 3 points for uploading your pictures to social media and a potential 3 bonus points for Strava segments…almost $20 for one night of riding! Multiply that out over the course of 3 weeks, and you can accumulate some nice cash toward a new ride!
