One of my favorite moments on the lagoon is just before the rain arrives. Everything gets so peaceful and quiet. Not a soul in sight, just me standing on the shore with several manatees hanging out by the launch site, fish jumping, and birds telling their stories.

Then the rain started making its way toward us. That “white noise” you hear? That’s the rain on the other side of the trees, slowly making its way closer. There’s something really magical about hearing the rain before you can even see it!

This is what makes Mosquito Lagoon so special. There’s always something happening out here, even in the quietest moments. You just have to stop, listen, and let the lagoon tell you its story. 💚🌧️

I stood in the rain to capture this magical moment on beautiful Mosquito Lagoon. 🌈✨ A full double rainbow, a tarpon breaking the surface, and a dolphin gliding through the water below it. Some moments are worth getting a little wet for. 💜

🌅 When the lagoon wakes up, the wild side comes alive. 🐬🪶

There’s something magical about experiencing Mosquito Lagoon during the quiet hours of sunrise. The water is calm, the world is still, and the wildlife gets busy.

This morning, a dolphin was hunting right in front of the camera while a belted kingfisher made its own breakfast dives. 🐬💦🐦

No crowds. No noise. Just the peaceful rhythm of the lagoon and a front-row seat to nature doing what nature does best.

These are the moments that make an early morning on the lagoon worth every minute. 💜🌿

BIG CHANGES ARE COMING TO RIVERWITCH KAYAK!

We’re temporarily closing RiverWitch Kayak Rentals & Tours beginning August 27 as we relocate and renovate our launch site!

With the sale of Bissit Bay Fish Camp, we’re moving our RiverWitch Kayak concession stand (aka the Tiki Booth!) next door and taking some time to create a new and improved home for RiverWitch Kayak. 🌴

And we’re VERY excited about where we’re headed!

Our new launch area will take you directly into a beautiful, biodiverse mangrove marsh, giving you even closer access to the wild side of Mosquito Lagoon. We’ll be sprucing up the property, creating a nicer launch area, and getting everything ready for a fresh new chapter of RiverWitch Kayak adventures.

We’re aiming to be back on the water by October 1, but we’ll keep you posted as the renovations come together. Follow along and stay tuned for our official reopening date!

We can’t wait to welcome you to our new launch site and get you back out exploring, paddling, fishing, and discovering the incredible wildlife of Mosquito Lagoon. 🐬🐢🌿

A new RiverWitch Kayak Rentals & Tours is taking shape… and we think you’re going to love it. 💜💚

📅 Temporarily closed August 27 through approximately October 1
📍 New launch location coming soon

This raccoon was busy searching the shallows for a snack among the mangrove roots. And yes, raccoons really are opportunistic little foodies! Their diet can include crabs, fish, snails, insects, fruits, and pretty much anything else they can get their clever little paws on. 🦝🦀🐟

📸 Thanks to one of our guests for sharing their video!

Just another day of wild Florida doing what wild Florida does. 🌿💦

Last night’s Glow Tour was one for the books. 🌙✨

We set out on the lagoon in our clear-bottom kayaks, but Mother Nature had a few surprises waiting for us.

We were lucky enough to watch a rocket launch light up the night sky 🚀, catch a meteor shower streaking overhead ☄️, and paddle beneath a bright crescent moon. All while surrounded by the quiet glow of our kayaks on the water with dolphins surfacing nearby. 🐬✨

Sometimes the best part of a kayak tour is the things you never could have planned. 💜🌿

Want to experience a night like this for yourself? Check out our Glow Tours and come see what the lagoon has in store.
