Taichi moving meditation has many health benefits, one of which is protecting cognitive health. See article.

A new article on our website: "Taijiquan: A Powerful Ally for Memory After 50"

As the global population ages, cognitive decline has become one of the most pressing health concerns for adults over 50. While many turn to brisk walking or cycling for physical fitness, new research suggests that these activities may fall short in protecting brain function. A recent neuroscience study from May 2025 has revealed that Taiji (T'ai Chi), a centuries-old Chinese mind-body practice, boosts memory by 23% more than walking, offering far-reaching benefits for mental clarity and long-term brain health.

Taichi tip from the master... 🙏

"When we train in Taichi, we must always take care of TWO: fast/slow, big/small, internal/external, etc. For example, the reason why we have to train in feeling and moving very large, and also feeling and moving what is very small, is that if we only focus on large, we miss the small. If we only focus on small, we miss the large."

Many study Taichi for martial arts. However, Taichi is an internal art that is far beyond just "punch and kick." Here's part of the reason....

"Nothing you do in Taichi can have an end. You always keep moving. If you're just throwing a punch at someone, extending your arm, there's an end. That's not how the universe moves. Taichi, like the universe, always keeps moving — it circles, curves, or rolls, but it always has somewhere to go. There is no end to its motion."

Did you know the meaning of the phrase "crouching tiger, hidden dragon?" 🐅🐉

The idiom "卧虎藏龙" (Wò hǔ cáng lóng) literally translates to "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." It describes a place or situation where talented or powerful individuals are hidden or not immediately apparent. The imagery of a crouching tiger and a hidden dragon symbolizes hidden strength or potential that lies beneath the surface. A concept familiar to those practicing one of the "internal" martial arts.

It's hard to believe that it has been 25 years since I watched the blockbuster movie directed by Ang Lee entitled "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". That movie introduced the popular Chinese idiom to an international audience.
