Congratulations to sophomore, Jade Estimo, for her Top 20 finish at the meet in Clovis last weekend!
Congratulations to Silas Carpenter for qualifying as an alternate at the State Championship Meet!
“Jade was listed 22nd coming into the meet. She moved up 2 spots, finishing in the top 20 at the 2026 CIF State Championships. She was the 2nd alternate for consolation finals. But did not make it into the competition pool Saturday for finals. With 6 seniors ahead of her and 5 seniors below her in the top 40-100 backstrokers at this year’s State championships. She’s looking to push into the top 10 next season in 100 back, as top 9 would get her into the A-final. And onto the podium for awards. She was also less than a second off from making into another individual event this season. She raises the bar for all athletes at Bishop O’Dowd and especially for her fellow teammates on Swim Team. Where the goal is now to get a relay to qualify for State before 2028.
Silas Carpenter entered State champs with a top 40-100 backstroke time this season. But was listed as 3rd alternate. He was there and ready with 2 other alternates. But no alternates got to swim. With 18 seniors ahead of him this season, he’s on pace to be in the top 25-100 backstrokers next year.” ~ Head Coach, Brandon Williams
