2026 edition of Golden State Trail Run

It was a beautiful day to be on the rolling sunny hills of Fort Ord National Monument. We had some great performances on the course from the grit at the back of the pack to the speedsters blazing the trails.

Our toughest challenge on the calendar. TWO FIFTY MILERS five weeks apart.
1. Monterey Ultra 50M
2. Marin Ultra Challenge 50M
The first can be a fast run able course with 7,000' elevation gain around the Fort Ord National Monument. A little sand, rock, single track and long grinding climbs.
The second is our premier Ultra Marathon, "The MUC" (Marin Ultra Challenge). The climbing can be relentless (10,000'), and the coastal views, redwoods and the headlands are absolutely majestic.
The community comes out to support these two events and these runners are inspiring to watch.

MUIR WOODS MT CHALLENGE, tackling the infamous Willow Camp climb, Dipsea Trail & the incredible mossy redwoods of Muir Woods St Park.

Golden State Trail Run is a little over a week out!
June 20, 2026
There are limited spots remaining. If you want to come join us and get in a 10K, Half Marathon, 35K or test yourself in the 50K Ultra Distance.
Maybe, you don't want to run but you want to support and volunteer. We can still use aid station and finish festival volunteers on Saturday and a few runners/bikers/hikers that want to do a course check on Sunday to ensure all course markings have been removed.
