It took a week For these miracles to morph into dirty pigeons……. For the glowing faces of the students at the studio to turn into disgusted faces

On Monday they had pooped all over the stairwell and I had to do something.

I draped a Muslim cloth over the flower pot where they had laid their eggs and put a curtain at the main gate.

This morning. I got this text from Ashley, who teaches the 9AM.

My move was to put pigeon spikes in the flower pot under the Muslim and relocate the egg into a plant pot on the rooftop garden…

Margie cut the pigeon in a towel and put it on the egg.

Now it’s a member of our family in a sustainable way….

Or not

Your move Pigeon.

Friday afternoon I was watching the docs at the Richmond Yacht club when I came across this plank.

It was burned and wet and weathered by some shoreline.

So I took it and put it in my truck and decided to turn it into a bench

Yesterday morning I got started and used some metal that came from a Bar that they hung yoga mats on at the San Rafael studio.

And then I found an old 4 x 4 from the equipment yard add an almond farm,

And I put them all together to make this!

I don’t know the story of the plank, but it has obviously traveled I do know the story of the metal legs pitted with rust by the sweat of thousands of yoga mats and I can guess the story of the 4 x 4 aging with the weather

Last Wednesday, I was with Athena and her friend on the Berkeley Campus….Trying to stay out of the rain…..

We walked to the base of the Campanella and then in and out of the Philosophy Building… and then on to Telegraph Avenue where things have always happened that I’ve never understood.

Meanwhile, at the San Rafael studio, Marc McCauley decided that he wanted to partner with me in the San Rafael Bikram studio.

‘That’s the solution!!!!!!’ That’s the only solution to bringing this studio back to the way that this studio ought to be. Back to its beginnings…… back to the McCauley family!!!

Marc is a Yogi… in the truest sense of the word. And he comes from a Yoga Family. His parents started the studio back in 1995, and he has been part of the Marin County Yoga scene ever since.

And he knows what he is doing!! He has owned a Yoga studio, he’s run retreats in Thailand, and, most importantly, He operates from a place of Love.

Every time I talk to him, I feel the memory of his mother who was one of the luminaries of my life.

In trying to bing this studio back to life, I’ve found that the problem with the place is that it has fallen away from what it originally was…..Which is not so much a yoga business, as it was a Yoga School.

Marc and I intend to bring it back to just that!
