Welcome to D & D Ranch
Our mission is to teach, understand, and provide experience with horses. Hey there! I'm Ann Owner of D & D Ranch.

It's always been a dream of mine to run a business. I grew up riding horses, worked a number of barn jobs, and when I finally was able to get my first couple horses, I decided to open up D & D Ranch. Now 4 years later we have just expanded to a 10 acre farm across the street from HITS show grounds.

What a great job the kids did with this game!
Each one of the horses was against the other. They needed to make it through their obstacle course and back to their team member and then have the next one get on, each team had three players that needed to get done with their ride.
The team who finished all three rides was the winner.
The winner kept being Dallas our smallest pony, which was really shocking! I think the hardest part was having the kids dismount and have the next one get on.
What a fun and exciting game!

Week 2 of Horse Camp is officially in the books, and what an incredible wrap-up we had today! It was a remarkably busy and exciting day as we welcomed a few extra campers for our finale, bringing our group to a perfect dozen. Having 12 kids meant we could dive right into some fantastic team games.

Since all the campers have gained solid riding experience over the past two weeks, we decided to host a fun racing game. We matched up Dancer, Delaware, Dallas, and Dixie against each other, but the biggest surprise of the day came from our smallest competitor. Dallas, our smallest pony, teamed up with three of our youngest campers and managed to win three times in a row!

The kids absolutely loved playing games on horseback today. I am incredibly proud of our campers for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship, but I am equally proud of our horses. They handled the excitement beautifully and, most importantly, kept everyone safe.

While I have more videos than pictures to share from today’s adventures, please enjoy the moments captured. A huge thank you to all the parents who trusted us to watch over your children, teach them, and keep them safe. We cannot wait to see you all again!

Week 2, Day 4 of Camp

What an awesome day we had at camp today. The kids spent part of the day riding ba****ck, which means riding without a saddle. Ba****ck riding is a great way for new riders to build confidence, balance, and body awareness because they can really feel the movement of the horse underneath them. It helps riders learn to sit deeper, use their legs correctly, and develop a better connection with their horse.

After riding, everyone enjoyed a little downtime in their own way. A few of the kids jumped in the trough and splashed around for a while, some cooled off inside watching Ninja Turtles on TV, and others had fun getting creative with arts and crafts.

Later on, we all regrouped out front, played together, and colored the driveway with chalk. To wrap up the day, we finished with a fun round of baseball.

It was a full day of horses, laughter, creativity, sunshine, and memories. We are so proud of how hard these kids are working and how much they are learning each day.

If you love seeing what our campers are up to, please like this post, leave them some encouragement in the comments, and share it with your friends and family. Your support means so much to our campers and helps more people see all the fun, learning, and confidence being built here at camp.

Week Two, Day Three at D & D Ranch Horse Camp

What a great day at horse camp! The kids are really getting the hang of steering their horses, and it has been so fun to watch their confidence grow more and more each day. Along with the riding, I’ve also noticed a much better understanding of horsemanship. They are learning not just how to ride, but how to work with their horses, communicate clearly, and be more aware of what their horse needs.

After a great day of riding, we paired up and played a few fun games out in the field. The kids had a blast with a wheelbarrow race, where one person held their partner’s legs while the other used their arms to race across the field. We also had a piggyback ride contest, along with a few other games that brought lots of laughs and friendly competition.

It was another full day of riding, learning, teamwork, and fun at D & D Ranch. We have some great videos to share later, so stay tuned!
