Last day of school for our Kaia Ginger Chew
Senior year 🤍❤️🤍❤️🤍

06/08/2026

OCHS 2026 Baccalaureate ✨✨✨ It’s all beginning to feel so very real.

This season of life is filled with so many changes, and if I’m being honest, part of me isn’t quite ready.

As a mother, watching Kaia prepare to graduate high school and Cove prepare to graduate eighth grade has me reflecting on just how quickly time moves. It feels like yesterday they were little girls holding my hand, and now they are standing on the edge of new adventures, new experiences, and new chapters of life.

There is a bittersweetness to it all.

A part of me wants to slow time down, to hold on a little longer to the familiar routines and the moments that made up these years. But another part of me knows that growth is something to celebrate, not fear.

Life was never meant to stay the same.

The seasons change.
The tides rise and fall.
Children grow.

And while my heart may not feel ready, I am learning to embrace it all with gratitude.

Grateful for every car ride.
Every late-night conversation.
Just simply being all together and hearing their voices.

Every triumph, challenge, lesson, and memory that brought us here.

Tonight isn’t about endings.

It’s about honoring the journey, celebrating who they have become, and trusting who they are becoming.

I definitely have been shedding tears the past few weeks - but they are tears of love, pride, and gratitude.

Here’s to embracing change, holding on to what matters, and stepping forward into the next chapter with an open heart. ✨✨✨

Yoga Ginger is more than a studio… it’s a feeling.

A place where self-love is practiced, not perfected. A place where you arrive exactly as you are and leave feeling lighter, stronger, and more connected to yourself.

For those who walk through our doors, it quickly becomes something more, a home. A community rooted in love, light, movement, and belonging.

Whether you’re here for a weekend, a season, or year-round, you’ll find a space that welcomes you, supports you, and reminds you to slow down and breathe.

Come for the yoga. Stay for the feeling.

Shout out to our Kaia Ginger Chew !!!! 🤍✨🙌
As the scholarship awards and senior academic and athletic honors at OCHS have now come and gone, I find myself reflecting on just how proud I am of all you have accomplished.

These recognitions are the result of years of hard work, commitment, perseverance, and countless hours spent balancing academics, athletics, and all that comes with being a teenager. While the awards and scholarships are wonderful achievements, what makes me most proud is the person you have become—kind, determined, resilient, and full of heart.

Watching you grow into this incredible young woman has been one of the greatest joys of my life. You have worked so hard for every opportunity that lies ahead, and I know this is only the beginning.

Congratulations, Kaia. We are beyond proud of you and excited to watch you spread your wings and fly. 🦋❤️🎓

New Day, New Month, New Week ahead ✨🤍✨🤍✨

Alli,

I hope today you allowed yourself to truly receive the gift of this moment.

So often we spend our energy fighting, healing, caring for others, and simply getting through the days that we forget to pause and take in how far we’ve come.

Today wasn’t about cancer.

It was about life.

It was about celebrating the strength that carried you through the hardest days, the love that surrounded you along the way, and the beautiful life you’ve continued to build with your boys, your husband, your family, and your friends.

As we sat together in this room, we weren’t just celebrating one year cancer-free. We were celebrating resilience. We were celebrating hope. We were celebrating laughter, friendship, community, and the simple gift of being here.

Thank you for reminding us that courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is showing up day after day with grace. Sometimes it’s choosing gratitude when life feels uncertain. Sometimes it’s simply continuing to move forward one breath at a time.

Take a deep breath in and feel the love that surrounded you today.

Feel the support.

Feel the joy.

Feel the gratitude.

And when you leave this space, carry that feeling with you.

May the year ahead bring more adventures, more laughter from your boys, more beautiful moments with your family, and countless reasons to celebrate.

We love you, Ali.

We honor your journey.

And today, we celebrate the beautiful soul that you are. 🤍✨🙏

26 Years
Today marks 26 years since I lost my dad.
I was 20 years old. He was 46.
Now I am the exact same age he was when he left this world, and that realization feels almost impossible to comprehend.
I remember every detail of that day. The sound of his footsteps coming home from work. His favorite polished work shoes. The hug he gave me when he walked through the door. Showing him my trunk perfectly packed folded clothes, ready to head back early for my junior year of college and spend the summer with friends. I was excited about what was ahead, completely unaware of how quickly life could change.
It was a beautiful evening when he rode away with his friends. I never saw him again.
In yoga, we often talk about being present. About staying in this moment. About not living in the past or worrying about the future. Yet sometimes our hearts revisit certain moments because they helped shape who we became.
Lately, as I prepare to send my own daughter off to college, those memories have been rising to the surface. I find myself thinking about all the things my dad never got to see. The woman I became. The life I built. The studio I created. The grandchildren he never had the chance to know.
There is a grief that never completely leaves us. It simply changes shape.
But yoga has taught me that our scars and our stories do not weaken us—they deepen us.
Losing my father taught me to love harder. To hold people a little longer. To protect fiercely. To take chances. To understand that tomorrow is never guaranteed.
Every person who walks into the studio carries a story. Some stories are visible. Most are not.
We all have moments that broke us, changed us, shaped us, and ultimately helped us grow.
So today, I honor my father not by dwelling in the loss, but by recognizing the gift he left behind: a reminder to be here, now. To love the people in front of us. To appreciate ordinary moments that one day become extraordinary memories.
26 years later, I still miss him and still grateful
for every step of the journey that brought me here. The practice reminds us that life is not measured by how long we are here, but by how deeply we love while we are.
✨until me meet again.
