So, yeah, we have a slight problem in the transportation department right now.
Two very dead golf carts. ☠️
29 very hungry horses. 🐴
That means executing a plan that involves anything with wheels! And our staff and volunteers know wheelbarrows are a multipurpose tool around the Ranch. Everyone is fed and happy and the Hangry Herd crisis has been averted! 😄🐴💚
Ivey Ranch Park Association
That’s not a tagline. It’s just how the ranch works.
Ivey Ranch has been around since 1981, and from the very beginning the idea was the same: build something where people with and without disabilities are part of the same community — not separated by it.

It's hard to imagine an end to summer so we always enjoy sharing fun memories with friends before school starts. Current campers, riders, and volunteers are welcome! 🐎🍔🎥🤸♀️🌛

💚🐎Volunteer & Horse Spotlight from our June 2026 Newsletter💙🐎
A volunteer since 2019, Teri has spent her years at Ivey Ranch helping with lessons, Grooming Gang, Barn Buddies, horse shows, and other events. No task is too big or too small. Teri is happy to jump in and help with whatever needs to be done in order to keep things running smoothly!
Teri loves coming to Grooming Gang and seeing all the horses, riders, volunteers and supporters thriving. Teri states, "I'm so glad Ivey Ranch is there and always doing great things!"
Teri is also one of Island's sponsors. Foaled in 1998 in Great Britain, Island’s racing career included 21 starts and over $81,000 in earnings. Island had done close to 7,000 hours of work when he retired from mounted lessons in 2023. He was a part of our therapeutic and able bodied lesson programs, Equine Assisted Learning and Counseling sessions, and has participated in 16 years of summer camps, horse shows, tours, and fundraisers. Even after his retirement, Island continues in our EAL and EAC programs and he showcases the sensitivity and empathy of the thoroughbred with each interaction—entertaining a client with his goofy antics in one and providing a safe space and listening ear in another.
Our thanks to Teri and Island for their hard work and dedication at Ivey!

It’s hard to believe but Week 3 of summer camp starts today! Week 2 was another rousing success with our campers enjoying beautiful weather while learning about all things equine and improving their riding skills. Our end of the week horse show is always so much fun and we love celebrating with their families. 🐴💚

Sometimes the only horsepower that happens is when your interns give you a push back to the barn office for repairs. 💪😂

Sadly, it is that time of the year where wildfires occur. Tia, who is very serious about staying informed, has confirmed this fire is on Camp Pendleton and we are fine at the Ranch. We are grateful to all the fire personnel currently fighting this and keeping everyone safe on base. 🐴💚
