Meet the Team – Coach Dillon

I’m Dillon, originally from Brooklyn, NY, so you already know I bring that energy everywhere I go.

I started my martial arts journey at 17 with boxing and quickly fell in love with the sweet science. While competing in boxing, I was also training and competing in Muay Thai and kickboxing. By 18, I turned professional and competed on some of the biggest stages worldwide.

Fighting didn’t just shape me—it saved my life.

I’ve been coaching since 2017 and I’m passionate about helping others grow in skill, confidence, and discipline. My goal at OAC is to share my knowledge while creating a high-level, positive, and fun training environment. I love what I do, and I want you to feel that same energy every time you walk through the doors.

When I’m not training or coaching, you’ll find me on an adventure with my dog, Brooklyn—hiking or strolling the beach!

🥊 MEET THE TEAM: COACH GIL

Hi, I’m Coach Gil — a fitness boxing coach dedicated to helping you build strength, endurance, and confidence through boxing training.

My classes combine authentic boxing fundamentals with high-energy conditioning, functional strength work, and core training for a true full-body workout. Whether you’re brand new or experienced, I focus on proper technique, safe movement, and steady progress — no experience required.

Boxing is more than a workout to me. It’s a tool for building mental toughness, discipline, and self-confidence. When you train with me, you’ll be challenged, supported, and pushed to grow — all while having fun. There’s no such thing as failure, only opportunity to improve.

Outside the gym, I love catching games of the San Diego Padres, snowboarding at Big Bear Mountain Resort, Mammoth Mountain, and Lake Tahoe — and working toward becoming a Master scuba diver.

Get to Know Coach Sergio 🥊

Coach Sergio Espero is a dedicated boxing coach who brings experience, discipline, and heart to every class. Outside the gym, he’s a father of five, a union carpenter, and a chaplain/minister — a leader who lives what he teaches both in and out of the ring.

Sergio began boxing at 13, competing as an amateur in Northern California before stepping into the Southern California scene. After years in the ring — including competing again in his 30s — he transitioned into coaching, where he’s spent five years developing athletes inside and outside the ropes.

Beyond boxing, he’s spent 20 years sponsoring individuals in AA and has experience supporting mental health alongside doctors and counselors. Reflection, forgiveness, generosity, and kindness aren’t just words to him — they’re how he lives.

At OAC, his mission is simple: build strong, confident athletes and even stronger human beings — passing down discipline, compassion, and leadership to the next generation.
Catch him in the 5pm & 6pm youth and adult boxing classes. He’s also available for private training if you’re ready to level up.

Meet Coach Mandy — officially leading our 9AM Strength & Conditioning program at Oceanside Athletic Club 💪
The program kicked off this Monday, and we’re fired up to have her on the floor.

An athlete at heart with a competitive spirit, Mandy brings 20+ years of coaching experience, including serving as Head Coach of the women’s water polo program at Palomar College. Her journey with OAC started as a member, where she took on her first S&C challenge… and won 👏 That experience inspired her to step into coaching and help others build strength, confidence, and momentum.

Expect high-energy workouts, smart programming, and a supportive environment that challenges you to push past limits — no matter your fitness level.
