Swinging from your back foot will never work...

A good checkpoint is that at impact, pressure should generally be heavily favoring the lead foot. Many elite players have roughly 70-90% of their pressure on the lead foot by impact, even though their head may appear relatively centered.

Most golfers are working hard… but practicing the wrong way.

At CaliGolf, the goal is simple: Create structure so your game actually improves.

The difference isn’t more swing thoughts…

It’s understanding your tendencies, building the right sequence, and practicing with purpose.

That’s why every player starts with the Assessment.

If you’re tired of inconsistency and ready to finally understand your game, DM us “CONSISTENT” and we’ll send over the assessment link.

North County golfers… this is your sign to stop guessing.

The putt was over before the stroke even started ⛳

That’s how important setup is.

If you’re aimed wrong, your brain knows it. And whether you realize it or not, it’ll start making little adjustments to try and save the putt.

The same thing happens in putting, chipping, and the full swing.

When your setup is solid, you stop making compensations.

You can trust it.

Then all that’s left to do is let it happen.

A good setup won’t guarantee a great shot, but a bad setup makes one a lot harder.

This shot usually ruins most golfers rounds.... Heres how you hit this shot on the course when it matters

Most golfers try to lift the driver ⛳

You don’t need to.

Load the leverage, get your legs under you, and stand and face through the shot.

Because you’re tilted away from the target, that same motion naturally sends the club from the inside and up through the ball.

A simple feel:

Punch. Then uppercut.

When your body moves correctly, the club takes care of the rest.

Less effort. More speed.

Most golfers try to control the club.

Great golfers let it release ⛳

The swing works a lot more like throwing a ball than people realize.

Create leverage.

Get connected.

Then let the arm release naturally.

That’s the key.

When the arm works off the chest correctly and the body stays balanced, the club starts moving like a gyroscope around you. You stop steering it and start swinging it.

One of the best ways to train this?

Half swings. Tee drills. Impact bag work. Small motions where you can actually feel the release happen without trying to force it.

Bow into balance.

Stand and face.

Let the club work.

That’s where effortless speed starts showing up.

The takeaway isn't a placement... It's a swing.

Most golfers try to guide it into position and the second they do, tension takes over and the downswing is already fighting itself.

Trigger. Swing. Let the club's natural balance do the work.

No lifting. No forcing. Just motion from start to finish.

our brain is working against your swing. 🧠

It wants control. It wants safe. But that's exactly what's costing you distance and consistency.

What I teach my students: stop fighting it.

Catch it. Let it go. Trust the release.

Freedom in the swing is where everything clicks. 🏌️‍♂️

Muscling it down from the top is killing your speed.

The swing has a natural stopping point. Catch it. Let momentum build. Then let the club release like a whip — not a hammer.

Fred Couples never forced it. Neither should you.

Catch it. Gather it. Release it. That's real speed.

Every great swing has the same core elements ⛳

Leverage. Width. Balance. Release.

If the club is moving all over the place, your body is going to react to it instead of controlling it. Great players create structure early so the swing can organize itself naturally.

Wide takeaway.

Connected turn.

Then bow into leverage.

From there, everything lines up.

Back to the target… then straight through it.

The goal isn’t forcing positions forever.

Start robotic if you need to. Build the feel. Over time the movements shrink, blend together, and become athletic.

That’s when the swing starts flowing instead of fighting you.

Wide. Balanced. Let it go.
