Pony Pals Club at North Star Farm

Happy Sunday Pony Pals!

I hope everyone had an excellent first few weeks of school.

Here is the update for our next meeting on September 19 at 4pm:

Please have your Pony Pal ready for a cute holiday themed picture
with one of the following horses/ponies: LC, Calvin or Pepper.
We will have the horses shiny and bright with a little holiday flair.
Should you prefer a picture with your on pony that is ok too.

I will print and provide the picture for use with a holiday craft
at our December meeting. A red t-shirt or flannel shirt with red, etc. with
jeans or jean shorts/black jeans or shorts are just suggestions.

Following the pictures we will be learning about the different types
of bits and bridles and learn how to figure 8 them and have a team challenge
for fun and prizes. We will complete the meeting at 5-5:15pm.

Looking ahead, please mark your calendars for October 30th for the North Star Farm Halloween
Party and Costume contest. Pony Pals members are invited to attend,
costumes are strongly encouraged and the horse costume contest
and parade should be fun too!

Pony Pals Club at North Star Farm had a very successful meeting! Throughout the two days, we discussed the differences between hunters, jumpers, and equitation. Each member got to tell me their show name and barn name. I was impressed what they came up with! After the discussion, they were given a club shirt and some papers that introduces the anatomy of a horse! Ride Every Stride Inc.

Hello!

I wanted to send a reminder regarding tomorrow and Sunday. Please remember to bring your folder that was given during the May meeting. I will be passing out new papers for the activity planned. The meeting will be held at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center at BARN B on the end. Look for the North Star Farm banner, you will find us there. I will be available from 9am till noon both Saturday and Sunday. Feel free to stop by during the time frame. I can’t wait to see everyone!

⚫️⚪️PONY PALS CLUB – APRIL MEETING⚪️⚫️

Great News…the meeting this month will be at the PCHA show in Tampa at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center at the Fairgrounds. PCHA is the Pinellas County Hunter Association and this is their Spring Show on April 17 & 18TH.
Here is the plan:
Attend the show on Saturday, April 17th or Sunday, April 18th in 9am – 12noon timeframe
Watch one Hunter event, one Jumper event and one equitation event during that time and write one sentence about the difference between these different disciplines and I will be there to help you with any questions.
Complete worksheet with the above and share your Show Name and Barn Name
Enjoy and see a horse show underway and show your support for North Star Farm riders
See behind the scenes as horses/ponies are prepared for the show ring by the grooms
Watch and learn what the judges are looking for
Turn in your worksheet to get your Pony Pals Club t-shirt to wear to the next meeting
Collect the ANATOMY OF A HORSE Worksheet to learn and work from for the next meeting in May

We thought this would be a great opportunity to see a horse show in action and all the riders competing to do their best. It is a lot of fun! You do not need to stay for 3 hours – just whatever time works for you and your family.
I will be at the show on both mornings from 9am – 12noon and look forward to seeing you there.
We will text the barn that North Star Farm will be in so you can easily find our group.
We recommend wearing closed toe shoes so you can easily navigate the show and masks are required on the showgrounds.
The Bob Thomas Equestrian Center is located at 4800 US-301, Tampa 33610.
