🔥 WEEK 2 | DAY 1 🔥

Another great day at Ascend Fastpitch Summer Development Camp!

Today our athletes got back to work focusing on hitting fundamentals and learning three new drills they can use at home or before tournament games to help prepare for success at the plate.

We also spent time developing proper throwing mechanics, baserunning fundamentals, and situational hitting with runners on base, while continuing to reinforce the importance of consistency, attention to detail, and having a purpose behind every rep.

Every drill we teach is designed to help athletes not only improve their skills, but also increase their softball IQ and understanding of the game.

What makes this camp special is that we’re not just teaching softball. We’re teaching athletes how to prepare, compete, communicate, and build confidence that carries over into games and everyday life.

The energy, effort, and attitude from the girls today were outstanding, and we’re excited to continue building throughout the rest of the week.

WEEK 2 SIGN UPS ARE NOW OPEN!

Our first week of the Ascend Fastpitch Summer Development Camp was a huge success and we’re excited to keep the momentum going into Week 2!

Over the past week, our athletes worked on:
✅ Hitting routines and game preparation

✅ Defensive fundamentals
✅ Infield and outfield play
✅ Catching instruction
✅ Game situations and softball IQ
✅ Confidence, adversity, and mindset training

DAY 3 ✅ | Week 1 Complete

What a great way to finish our first week of the Ascend Fastpitch Summer Development Camp.

Today started with our pre-game routine. The girls stretched, prepared their bodies, and went through their hitting routine in the cages while our catchers worked with Coach George on receiving, blocking, and catcher-specific development.

From there, we moved into our throwing program, followed by infield and outfield work where we continued emphasizing proper fundamentals, communication, and game awareness.

We then put everything together in a controlled scrimmage environment. This gave us an opportunity to slow the game down, teach situations, explain decision-making, and help the girls understand not just what to do, but why they do it. These teaching moments are where real growth happens.

We wrapped up the day with a competitive hitting game that brought plenty of energy and smiles to finish the week.

The girls were awesome all week. Their effort, attitude, coachability, and willingness to learn made this first week a success. We challenged them, pushed them outside their comfort zones, and watched them grow both as players and as young women.

We’re excited for Week 2 as we continue building on what we’ve started. We will be introducing new drills, more position-specific instruction, and additional individual development opportunities designed to help the girls prepare for their weekend tournaments and continue improving throughout the summer.

We finished the day talking about adversity and self-confidence because success in softball, and in life, starts with believing in yourself when things don’t go as planned.

We’re building athletes, but more importantly, we’re building confidence.

🥎 Day 1 is in the books!

Today marked the first day of our Ascend Fastpitch Summer Development Camp and the girls got after it from the moment they stepped on the field.

We focused on movement, ladder drills, hitting drills, routines and approach, while also spending time teaching the why behind what we do.

One thing we emphasize at Ascend is that development is more than just taking swings or fielding ground balls. It’s about learning how to move better, compete harder, communicate and develop habits that will help athletes reach the next level.

The energy was outstanding, the effort was even better and this group is already showing what they are capable of becoming.
