Permian Basin Master Gardeners Permian Basin Master Gardeners are trained volunteers of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension that assist by increasing horticultural knowledge for West Texans.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service provides programs, tools, and resources that teach people how to improve agriculture and food production, advance health practices, protect the environment, strengthen our communities, and enrich youth. Mission: Through the application of science-based knowledge, we create high-quality, relevant continuing education that encourages lasting and effective change. Permian Basin Master Gardeners are trained volunteers of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension that assist by increasing horticultural knowledge for West Texans. They are part of a volunteer development program offered by Texas AgriLife Extension Service and designed to increase the availability of horticultural information and improve the quality of life through horticultural projects. Program objectives are implemented through the training and “employing” of local volunteers, known as Master Gardeners. They aid Extension by conducting school garden projects; answering telephone requests for horticultural information; establishing and maintaining demonstration gardens; working with special audiences in the community; and designing and implementing community improvement projects, as well as coordinating Master Gardener projects.
