This was on my work table a few days ago. I've made some progress since then but the project isn't quite finished yet. Stay tuned for the finished product... 😉

I love trees! Something about them just makes me feel at peace with the world. I think it's their calm steadfastness, bending with the wind but never breaking and always accepting the changes each season brings without complaint. I imagine the trees are listening to everything around them without judgement. If they could, I think they would reach out their branches to us in comfort. This is what I plan to be the first in a series of trees representing the hope and comfort that trees can provide us.

I was cleaning out photos today and came across this one that I meant to post months ago and forgot about. This past summer, two of my teens had the opportunity to participate in our local homeschool group's Shakespeare competition team for the event held in Cedar City, Utah every year. This year they did a compilation piece from Hamlet that included the "play within a play." We needed a symbol of the king's office as well as a cheap imitation for the "player king" to wear. These medallions are what I came up with. While I doubt they had much to do with the first place trophy the kids earned, I still think they turned out wonderful!

I just love it when a project turns out exactly the way I hoped it would and even better! These journals are at The Local Artisan Collective.

Look who's been hanging out on my work table this week! Aren't they adorable? These cute animals are formed over painted ping pong balls. You can see that I have more balls ready to be made into critters. What animals would you like to see me do?

Last week when I was off to work at the store, I told the kids I hoped to come home with a pile of ghosts ready to bake and my 16yo said, "Weirdly, that sounds kind of adorable!" Well, here's my pile of ghosts and I think they're pretty adorable! They'll be available at The Local Artisan Collective later this afternoon or you can message me to purchase. $8.00 each and they glow in the dark!
