We had the opportunity to remove all of this old asbestos insulation from the boiler system in the basement af an old building. These old boilers are a piece of history and are also super inefficient compared to today's technology.

From experience, it can become very difficult to jump thru the hoops of multiple governing agencies most of which have contradicting rules (EPA vs. OSHA vs. County health department). I feel bad for these home owners and I hope they can start putting their lives back together ASAP.

I marked this photo where you can see white paper tape on the seams of the HVAC ductwork. This white paper tape contains up to 70% chrysotile asbestos and is most commonly found in older homes with forced air heating. It can often be camouflaged if a duct work is painted white like these ducts on the right.

I love these dirty old dungeons! This one originated in about 1920 in Cache Valley!
